Chapter 11, Page 11, Book 11

On Veterans Day, Nov. 11, we honor all of those brave Americans who served this wonderful country.

I want to take the time to thank every veteran out there for all that you have done for us !
Some veterans bear visible signs of their service: a missing limb, a jagged scar, a certain look in the eye.
Others may carry the evidence inside them: a pin holding a bone together, a piece of shrapnel in the leg - or perhaps another sort of inner steel: the soul's ally forged in the refinery of adversity.
Except in parades, however, the men and women who have kept America safe wear no badge or emblem.  You can't tell a vet just by looking.
So remember, each time you see someone who has served our country, just lean over and say Thank You. That's all most people need, and in most cases it will mean more than any medals they could have been awarded or were awarded.
Two little words that mean a lot, THANK YOU.

Remember November 11th is Veterans Day

It is the soldier, not the reporter, Who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the soldier, not the poet, Who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, Who has given us the freedom to demonstrate.
It is the soldier, Who salutes the flag, Who serves beneath the flag, And whose coffin is draped by the flag...

I'm thankful today for the veterans past and present who have worked to protect our country and make this a safe place to live

Today, Friday, 11/11/11 is thought to be a very special date and I agree.  It is a FANTASTIC day to honor our Veterans

We were at a high school band concert this week and they played the anthem from each branch and had the veterans stand up. It makes a lump come up in your throat to think they did this for us. The sun is shining this morning. A beautiful day to honor them.

THANKS, we always remember without family and dedicated citizenry there would be no VETS.

We all should remember the Vet's families and prayer for those on the high seas and in harms' way.

For many vets there has been the wife, alone handling home and kids. Mom and Dad wondering about the vets safety.
Nice tribute MA. Love ya

You say it well!! This is one my more meaningful days of the years with over 1/2 of my family having given service in one of the five branches. I too served and it was some of the best times in my life.

Today the Hawaii Air National Guard flew four F-22 jets over Punchbowl, the National Cemetery, in missing man formation. I was awed. Tomorrow the leaders from Japan and Korea will be placing wreaths there to honor our veterans. Ma, thank you for your kind and caring word.
