Chapter 10, Page 14, Book 09

The moment when you first wake up in the morning is the most wonderful of the twenty-four hours. No matter how weary or dreary you may feel, you possess the certainty that, during the day that lies before you, absolutely anything may happen. And the fact that it practically always doesn't, matters not a jot. The possibility is always there
Monica Baldwin

You can wake up every day feeling excited about the day. It takes the desire to feel good, and the discipline to discover where you are losing energy

We have to be aware of what we need to feel great and we have to love ourselves enough to give it to ourselves. Experiment! Try going to bed earlier. . . try watching only the TV programs that enrich your life and help you feel better. Your feelings will guide you if you tune in to what they are telling you

In order to feel happy about being alive, we need to build our reserves of energy, health, time, and wealth. If you become more aware of the things that drain your power and resources, and commit to making the necessary changes, you will launch yourself into a whole new vibrant life

As we’ve been having nothing but cloudy, gloomy days lately I did a little web browsing looking for ways to brighten up my days. The article above mentioned building up our reserves. I need to work on that one.

Here is another list I found

To wake up feeling refreshed every morning.

Go to bed when you get sleepy and sleep six to eight hours every night

Check your clock. If it is time to get up do so right away. Resist any temptation to go back to sleep. Tell yourself how you feel great when you get up right away in the morning

Sit up in bed and stretch your arms. Now throw your legs over the side of the bed and sit there for a minute. Stretch again and get up

Go into the bathroom and splash water on your face. Brush your teeth right away

Perform a morning exercise routine. It does not have to be fancy or elaborate

Make sure you eat something at this point. Toast and jam, or eggs and bacon are fine choices but do make sure you eat something for breakfast

Reflect on the day. Just take a few minutes and think about what your plans are and how you will execute them. Taking control of your day like this makes you feel great in the morning and the rest of the day

One thing I did find out was that Daylight signals your biological clock so it’s no wonder I still feel half asleep on these gloomy dark days.

I do try to make my own sunshine but some days it isn’t easy for sure

If things go wrong, don't go with them.

I agree, I'm waiting to fall back too. This morning we woke to beautiful snow outside. It's still coming down. It won't stay though because we are expecting warmer temps and besides snow never stays this early. I woke up, laid in bed for a bit and went right back to sleep. Totally different than what you found, lol. Have a wonderful day

I liked that list of morning freshness; I'll have to remember to do some of them although I am a morning riser so its not (too) hard to get out of bed most mornings

I'm with you, Ma; I like bright sunny days, even if they are on the chilly side; when it is gloomy for more than a few days, it does affect my mood; hoping it brightens up a bit over the next few days
