It takes hands to build a house, but only hearts can build a home.

Chapter 7, Page 14. Book 09

When we feel we have nothing left to give
And we are sure that the song has ended
When our day seems over and the shadows fall
And the darkness of night has descended,
Where can we go to find the strength
To valiantly keep on trying,
Where can we find the hand that will dry
The tears that the heart is crying?
There's but one place to go and that is to God
And, dropping all pretense and pride,
We can pour out our problems without restrain
tAnd gain strength from Him at our side
,And together we stand at life's crossroads
And view what we think is the end
But God has a much bigger vision
And He tells us it's only a bend
For the road goes on and is smoother
And the "pause in the song" is a rest
And the part that's unsung and unfinished
Is the sweetest and richest and best
So rest and relax and grow stronger
Let go and let God share your load
Your work is not finished or ended,
You've just come to a bend in the road.

I’ve been at that bend in the road several times in my life. I like to think about life being a journey and the road is what we travel on as we grow older. Bumps and potholes are there too and we must some how avoid them or repair the damage they cause.

One thing to remember is that as we go down that road we are never alone. We don’t have to be afraid of the unknown or worry about tomorrow. The good Lord is there always.

Being able to hang on and enjoy the ride is the trick. If we let little road blocks stop us from enjoying life, then we are letting the air out of our own tires. We need to keep on going. Life is an amazingly awesome thing. It’s so full of wonder and beauty that we often over look. I’m trying to take in each and every moment as it comes.

I hope you all do too.

St. Theresa's Prayer
May today there be peace within.
May you trust that you are exactly
where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities
that are born of faith in yourself and others.
May you use the gifts that you have received,
and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be content with yourself just the way you are.
Let this knowledge settle into your bones,
and allow your soul the freedom
to sing, dance, praise and love.
It is there for each and every one of us.

This day and your life ... are God's gift to you,
so give thanks and be joyful always!

Sometimes that bend can be pretty huge. I needed to read this because has a family we are in a bend right now. Transitions are very difficult and when you have others not tell you the truth, it's even harder. This reminded me to once again go to my Savior and lean on Him. Hugs and love..

Thank you for the good words, especially St. Theresa's Prayer. I think if we prepare ourselves for "bumps" during the smooth times and give God (vs. ourselves) credit for the good we are able to see the work He does during the troubled times.

I keep asking myself, "Will I still be upset over this in 5 years?" If not then it is easier to take a breath and go on.
