Chapter 2, Page 9, Book 09

1. Love is that first feeling you feel before all the bad stuff gets in the way.
2. When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love.
3. When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You know that your name is safe in their mouth.
4. Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other.
5. Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs.
6. Love is when someone hurts you. And you get so mad but you don't yell at them because you know it would hurt their feelings.
7. "Love is what makes you smile when you're tired."
8. Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK."
9. Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen.
10. When you tell someone something bad about yourself and you're scared they won't love you anymore. But then you get surprised because not only do they still love you, they love you even more.
11. Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it every day.
12. Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well.
13. During my piano recital, I was on a stage and scared. I looked at all the people watching me and saw my daddy waving and smiling. He was the only one doing that. I wasn't scared anymore.
14. My mommy loves me more than anybody. You don't see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night.
15. Love is when mommy gives daddy the best piece of chicken.
16. Love is when mommy sees daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford.
17. Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day."
18. You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget.

Memory is a child walking along a seashore. You never can tell what small pebble it will pick up and store away among its treasured things.
Pierce Harris

I put some pictures of our snow and the melt down that occurred this weekend on my side bar. Our temps finally got above freezing so a lot of snow disappeared. We’ve had a flood warning all weekend too as our rivers are jammed with ice. Around here they flow to Lake Erie which is also ice.
I do not live where any flooding might occur, but there are people that do so we’ll be praying for their safety and that of their homes.
I had a relaxing weekend. Only went out when I went to church. I was so tired out from all the snow and ice last weekend that I didn’t care to go out .
Work will be pretty quiet today and out temps are above freezing once more so it looks like a great Monday.
A house is a house is a house-until love comes through the door, that is. And love intuitively goes around sprinkling that special brand of angel dust that transforms a house into a very special home for very special people: your family.
Money, of course, can build a charming house, but only love can furnish it with a feeling of home.
Duty can pack an adequate sack lunch, but love may decide to tuck a little love note inside.
Money can provide a television set, but love controls it and cares enough to say no and take the guff that comes with it.
Obligation sends the children to bed on time, but love tucks the covers in around their necks and passes out kisses and hugs (even to teenagers!).
Obligation can cook a meal, but love embellishes the table with a potted ivy trailing around slender candles.
Duty writes many letters, but love tucks a joke or a picture or a fresh stick of gum inside.
Compulsion keeps a sparkling house. But love and prayer stand a better chance of producing a happy family.
Duty gets offended quickly if it isn't appreciated. But love learns to laugh a lot and to work for the sheer joy of doing it.
Obligation can pour a glass of milk, but quite often love will add a little chocolate.

I enjoyed the pictures of the snow; glad that it warmed up a bit so that some of it could melt on the sidewalks; hoping all will be safe in the flooding zones

I enjoyed that first thing about love and kids; very wise words from whoever wrote that

enjoy the day
