Chapter 2, Page 12, Book 09

Author Unknown

I asked for strength and
God gave me difficulties to make me strong.
I asked for wisdom and
God gave me problems to solve.
I asked for prosperity and
God gave me brawn and brains to work.
I asked for courage and
God gave me dangers to overcome.
I asked for patience and
God placed me in situations
where I was forced to wait.
I asked for love and
God gave me troubled people to help.
I asked for favors and
God gave me opportunities.
I received nothing I wanted
I received everything I needed.
My prayers have all been answered.

Tis true! I do have everything I need. I sometimes forget that I am so blessed.
Prayers are not always answered as we would want them to be, but they we do receive a response in God’s own precious time.
I have been longing for Spring and for camping season to begin once more. I knew the minute that I closed up my little place in the woods last fall, that it was going to be one long winter. The thing about memory is that we do tend remember the bad stuff and I cannot recollect much good that ever happened to me during winter.
Oh there are the cozy nights inside with the candles lit and a good book to read…but I can also do that in the summer. There is Christmas which is always brings a family gathering and lots of gifts, but we do that in the summertime also.
I am and do thank the good Lord for his blessings of warm clothing, a warm house and a car that has heat that gets me back and forth to work every day, but I haven’t yet thanked Him for winter. I guess I’d better work on that one for sure.
If anyone has some good things to say about winter, I’d sure appreciate hearing about them, I do need all the help I can get.
Oh, by the way, it is colder here and supposed to snow again today.

Is it possible for the rose to say,

'I will give my fragrance to

the good people who smell me,

but I will withhold it from the bad?'

Or is it possible for the lamp to say,

'I will give my light to the good people in this room,

but I will withhold it from the evil people'?

Or can a tree say,

'I'll give my shade to the good people

who rest under me,

but I will withhold it from the bad'?

These are images of what love is about.

Winter has it's own beauty. It makes it difficult for us to appreicate and love her, but without it you'd be in ;)

It's hard to be thankful for winter--but it is as necessary as the warm times. I always try to remember that the four seasons mirror our lives with God. Things have to sleep in the winter to be gloriously covered in blooms in the spring.

Spring is on it's way.
