Chapter 12, Page 14, Book 08

How to Have a Joyous Christmas Season
Appreciate one another
Remember the Joy of Giving
Share and Care for Others

Be kind and sincere
Be thoughtful
Be appreciative of others
Be of good cheer
Do not party to much
Avoid confrontation
Stay away from any problems that can spoil the season spirit
Do not cause confusion but enjoy the meaning of 'peace'
In my searches I’ve found many lists for a more enjoyable Christmas season. I’ve shared some already and will have some more to come. This one caught my eye as it says ENJOY THE MEANING OF PEACE. So I had to investigate Peace and here are few things I discovered.
Peace does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work. Peace means to be in the midst of all those things and still be calm in your heart. That is the real meaning of peace

I wish you the peace that passes all understanding, the peace that comes from a faith in something much greater than ourselves, a God who is loving and kind and gentle.
Millions of people have come across this peace, from the monks who spend day after day in prayer to the people who have passed through the program of Alcoholics Anonymous in order to clean up their lives and stop allowing their lack of inner peace to destroy them. A lack of peace in our lives can be one of the most destructive forces in the world, and I hope that you never feel the loss of peace in your life

Peace and war begin at home. If we truly want peace
in the world, let us begin by loving one another in our own families.
If we want to spread joy, we need for every family to have joy
Mother Teresa

Peace is a state of balance and understanding in yourself and between others where respect is gained by the acceptance of differences, tolerance persists, conflicts are resolved through dialogue, people's rights are respected and their voices are heard, and everyone is at their highest point of serenity without social tension

If I could give any gift to anybody in the world, it would be peace. Nothing but peace of mind and peace of heart can help to cure this world of ours or the people in it. Peace is like a medicine that works its magic on our spirits, allowing us to endure things we wouldn't be able to endure without it, and to see things that we wouldn't be able to see without it.
Peace is the greatest gift that we can share with others, apart from love, and the two are very closely related. Love without peace is often a demanding sort of love, and peace without love doesn't offer much to the world

With all these thoughts in mind I’m wishing you all a Peace filled day.
I’ll be off to church as usual and will say some special prayers today for all of you.
May the Peace of Christmas reign in your hearts today and always.

The most vivid memories of Christmases past are usually not

of gifts given or received, but of the spirit of love,

the special warmth of Christmas worship,

the cherished little habits of home.

Haven't been able to comment, but
I will keep trying. I so enjoyed
the story of the candy canes and
the pickle ornament. Traditions
become more dear with every passing
year. Not many days left in 2008.
I hope that 2009 will be just great. Love in Christ, Pat
