Chapter 11, Page 13, Book 08

T hanks for time to be together,
turkey, talk, and tangy weather.
H for harvest stored away,
home, and hearth, and holiday.
A for autumn's frosty art,
and abundance in the heart.
N for neighbors, and November,
nice things, new things to remember
K for kitchen, kettles' croon,
kith and kin expected soon.
S for sizzles, sights, and sounds,
and something special that about.
That spells THANKS for joy in living
and a jolly good Thanksgiving.
Aileen Fisher, All in a Word

Do you remember the last time you were literally overcome with gratitude?
Stop for a moment, and think back. How long has it been? What were you doing? What happened that caused you to feel so overwhelmingly grateful?
For most of us, such profound experiences of gratitude are rare. They usually come when someone does us a great favor, extends to us an unexpected and undeserved kindness, or forgives a great debt. Though they may not happen often, such experiences leave an indelible mark on our hearts. For a little while we become like children again – filled with wonder and awe and fresh excitement for life. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could live in such a thankful state of grace all the time?

GOOD MORNING !

I’ve noticed that a lot of people are starting to list what they are thankful for on Thursdays calling it Thankful Thursday. I think it is a great thing to do. Very often when we take time to count our blessings we find that life is better than we thought.

I’m always thankful for Thursdays because it means tomorrow is FRIDAY. The end of another week is almost here. I’m grateful that the good Lord helped me to make it through another work week. Some days are better than others, but I do try to be thankful for them all.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY

Don't forget to be thankful for life's simple joys.
You never know when things will get better or worse.
Either way, appreciate what you have now

‘On Ya’ –ma

Gratitude is a seasoning for all seasons

hmmmmm....I was last thankful yesterday when people helped me get boxes of info up to my meetings and then again afterwards. I was very happy to have the help. And I certainly remember being thankful about it. Then I didn't have to make about 5 trips up and down the stairs with boxes and presentation equipment heavier than I needed to be carrying with my knees. lol.

I try to be thankful every day and not just on Thursdays. The last time I felt that way was when someone from the internet sent me, totally unexpectedly, some plants for my garden. So exciting to get a parcel.

ugh! just typed a big comment and Blogger wouldn't take it; just wanted to say thanks for doing a Thankful Thursday entry; although you know we can/should be thankful each day of the week, I think its nice to publicly proclaim and write one day a week about my grateful thanks to a loving God who gies me so much to live for (and I know you feel the same way)

great entry; I enjoyed the THANKS poem :)
