It takes hands to build a house, but only hearts can build a home.

The following prayer for strength was written by Pope John 23rd
Every day, I need you Lord, but today especially I need some extra strength to face whatever is to come. This day, more than any other day, I need to feel you near me to strengthen my courage and to overcome my fear. By myself I cannot meet the challenge of the hour. We are frail human creatures and we need a Higher Power to sustain us in all that life may bring. And so dear Lord, hold my trembling hand. Be with me Lord, this day and stretch out your powerful arm to help me. May your love be upon me as I place all my hope in you.

The following are notes I took from the book by Max Lucado

Give Every Day a Chance

Need Spice in your Day?
Remember to thank God for every problem.

Remember if you don’t like where you are sitting,
there are about 1000 handicapped that would gladly trade places with you.

Proverbs 4:23
Be careful what you think about because your thoughts run your life.

If we worry we fall short on love.
How could we pay God for all the times we come up short?
God forgives with His gift of Jesus Christ.
We do the unthinkable – the forgiven refuse to forgive

Who wants to live in a house filled with rubble.
We hoard trash of the past , not in our house but
In our hearts.

Do you pack rat pain, rejections, anger and hurt?
Look at Matthew 18:21-22
Lord how often should I forgive someones sins against me?
Seven times, no, not seven times Jesus replied
But seventy times seven

That equals 490 times
God forgives the unforgivable

So my heavenly Father also will do to you if each of you from his heart does not forgive his brother his trespass.

Matthew 18:35

God is kind to you so you will change your hearts and lives

Romans 2:4

If you have hurts in your heart you can expect the joy level of a Siberian death camp

Forgiveness does not mean approval you are are not endorsing misbehavior, you are trusting your offender to He who judges rightly. 1Peter 2:3

May we choose forgiveness

I had the opportunity to read a great book over the weekend so I decide to make some notes and share some of the wonderful things that were in it.

Every Day Deserves a Chance
By Max Lucado

We can imagine how good it would feel to start the day with soft sands, cool breezes and palm trees swaying. That just doesn’t happen too often in our lives but we must remember

Psalm 118:24
This is a day the Lord has made. Let us be glad and rejoice in it.

Every day let these words sink in.

Give each day a chance.

If you are having a terrible no good day, choose not to drink, work, or worry, Resolve to give it a chance. Trust more. Stress less and before you know it the day is done.
One good day at a time.

Stacking one good day on another you will have a good life .

You no longer have yesterday
not yet have tomorrow
You have today – the day the Lord made

Rejoice and be glad!

Don’t let yesterday’s mistakes sabotage your attitude. God’s mercies are new every morning.

There is lots more like this that I’ll be sharing in the next few days and if you get a chance maybe you can get the book and read it yourself. I found it a Dollar General for $4.00. What a buy.

It’s a good way to start the day –
Giving it a chance.
