It takes hands to build a house, but only hearts can build a home.

Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God

Ephesians 5: 1-2

Living a Spirit filled Life !

Psalm 63 is a wonderful guide for living a day in victory from morning til night

Oh God, you are my God who I seek…my lips shall glorify you…That you are my help, and in the shadow of your wings, I shout for joy…

This Psalm opens in the earliest moment of the day, reminding us that a victorious day begins in the morning !

Mark 1:35 tells us that Jesus would rise very early before dawn…he left and went off to a deserted place, where he prayed.

It may be that you have more time to study and pray in the evening, but remember the words of Isaiah 50:4-5

The Lord has given me a well trained tongue, That I might know how to speak to the weary, a word that will rouse them. Morning after morning he opens my ear that I may hear.

We should accomplish the following steps each morning and evening

1. Acknowledge His authority

Awaken every morning to the challenge “Choose…this day whom you will serve” Joshua 24:15

2. Abound in His presence

My soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you – Psalm 63:1

Ask for Him to give you a spirit that desires to be full of Him
Remember : cleansing + yeilding = filling , and with the filling of the Spirit comes the fruit of the Spirit

3. Ask to see His glory and Power

In Psalm 63 : 2 we see that Power appears in the works of God. Glory describes the ways of God. His presence is not limited to the big things, but to the small intimate details of life.

If we seek him and agree to keep watching through the eyes of the Spirit we will see His power and His glory

4. Award Him your mouth

Psalm 63:3 Thus I have gazed toward you in the sanctuary to see your power and your glory

5.Approach Him with Praise !

I will praise you as long as I live
- Psalm 63:4

6.Attribute all satisfaction to Him

Psalm 63:4 For your kindness is a greater good than life; my lips shall glorify you
And in Psalm 65:4..because of wicked deeds, we are overcome by our sins; it is you who pardon them

From a glorious morning to a marvelous day to a blessed night

7. At night audit your blessings

Psalm 63:6 On my bed I remember you

Recount His faithfulness to you

He never changes, he will never forget you. As he cared for you today, he will tomorrow. Night time is Prime time for remembering the day

8. Allow yourself to rest in His arms

Psalm 63: 7-8 …That you are my help, and in the shadow of your wings I will shout for joy

Cast your cares at his feet and curl up under His everlasting arms and rest

With these steps you can have a life of victory.

If we live ‘beyond ourselves’ with the fruits of the Holy Spirit,
we’ll find it’s the only way to live and that He is the only way to do it.

But the fruit of the Sprit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law

Galatians 5:22-23

Next week I hope to start a study on David. I’m also starting an e-course on the Bible and how the new and old Testaments relate, I’m not sure of what I’ll be putting in my journal, maybe a little of both.
