For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do
Today we study the fruit of the Spirit – Goodness
In reading Ephesians 2: 1-10 we find that once we lived in the world with the desires of the flesh, but God in his mercy, has saved us by grace, not by our deeds, but by His love for us.
We have not been saved by our works but for His works.
We are called to energize the character of kindness into acts of good.
We have good works to do which have been choosen, predestined, assigned in advance. God has planned and perfectly timed a mission designed for Kingdom gain in every generation .
Matthew 25: 14-30 The parable of the Talents
We have been entrusted with gifts from our Master. At the end of our lives we hope to hear – Well done my good and faithful servant! God uses our ablilities for His good works through us.
We have been called to do good in our own time, as little good or as much good depending on our obedience to God.
Guard this rich trust with the help of the Holy Spirit which lives within us.
