Grandma Quote for today --

I do not believe in a child world...I believe the child should be taught from the very first that the whole world is his world, that adult and child share one world, that all generations are needed. - Pearl S. Buck

I will send down showers in season;
there will be showers of blessing.
Ezekiel 34:26
My favorite day of the week - Friday. I enjoy just unwinding and being lazy on Friday evenings. Catching up on my e-mails and surfing the web for more bits of inspiration to pass on. I surfed the channels on TV too and am back to HGTV seems like the only thing interesting right now.
Tomorrow is 'fling' day and 'bless' your house day for me!
I talked to my 'Mississippi' babes today. They are enjoying 80 degree weather and have new jet ski's. Lots of water down there to have fun on. We won't have that kind of weather til the middle of June here.
Grandma Quote for Today --

The splendor of the rose and the whiteness of the lily do not rob the little violet of its scent nor the daisy of its simple charm. If every tiny flower wanted to be a rose, spring would lose its loveliness.

Therese of Lisieux

You know that once you cut the grass, you keep on mowing... So today was the first for this season and many more cuttings to come. I'm not complaining. It was just like a blessing from God to be outside this afternoon. I have a very hard time sitting at a desk all day. I love working in the yard. I definitely got into the wrong profession...being an office manager, however, is what I know how to do, so there we are.

Tomorrow is my 'Florida Sunshine' boy's birthday. He'll be two years old!!! Seems just like yesterday I was telling you all about his birth. They plan to take him to Disney this weekend and hopefully will be sending me some pictures. I can't seem to post any here, so I'll be putting pictures on one of my web pages and will put a link in my journal so you all can see.

Grandma Quote for today --

As the family goes, so goes the nation and so goes the whole world in which we live.

Pope John Paul II

Nothing lasts forever. Whenever you let go you become open and free to receive something new. When you let go , you lose pain and gain insight.

God loves us; not because we are lovable, but because He is love, not because He needs to receive but because He delights to give.

C.S. Lewis

It was a pretty quiet day at work, although it was Secretary's Day. Before I left work for the day one of my Bosses gave me a card with a gift certificate that was from both of them. I have 2 men that I work for is the President and owner , the other is his son in-law and the Operations Officer.

This evening I went to my prayer group at the Wellspring. They played some beautiful relaxing music and I think I'm soooo relaxed now that I should and could go to bed. I haven't kept up with any of 'Fly Ladies' things to do this week and my sink is not shinning, but full of dishes. Oh dear, I am procrastinating again. Tomorrow is another day.

Grandma Quote for Today --

I'm at an age where my back goes out more than I do.

Phyllis Diller

Every good deed you do genuinely comes back to you in abundance, even when no one directly says thank you. It's felt in your soul.

Dulcimer Night !

Every virtue is a form of obedience to God. Every evil word or act is a form of rebellion against Him. This may not be clear at first; but, if we think patiently, we shall find that it is true. Why were you angry? You will probably find that it was because you were not willing to accept the world as God has made it, or because you were not willing to leave it to God to deal with the people that He has made.

- Stephen Neill

This quote was in my e-mail today and it just hit the spot - I've been thinking alot about the anger I see in people today. I'm not trying to judge anyone - just observing. In days long gone my anger used to pop up real quickly too ! Most of the time now I just shake my head.

Then one of the groups I belong to started a discussion on whether or not there were times we should be angry. Righteous anger is something else again.

Oh well, I'm off to dulcimer at Donna's and I'm looking forward to it. We let off a lot of steam just by playing our dulcimers, talking and laughing alot. One of the best stress reducers I know of. We have been getting together for almost 20 years now. How time flies !!!

Grandma Quote for today --

It is good to let a little sunshine out as well as in.

Know that you yourself are a miracle.

Norman Vincent Peale

Our April snow is now history and our April showers are about to begin. My grass needs mowing, but it looks like a wet week. I hope my mower is up to tall grass !

I see by the comments I'm getting that a couple of my old journal buddies have followed me here to this new journal. I'm so glad ! I miss you all ! After posting comments on each others journals I feel we've gotten to be friends. If you have my page listed in your favorites, please don't forget to change the link to this new one.

Suddenly Sunday!

From my Grandma's Calendar

The realationship between a grandmother and granddaughter is a special relationship. It's teaching, telling, giving and bonding. It's learning family histories and traditions, things that have been passed from generation to generation.

Francine Haskins

All's quiet once again. I enjoyed my company this weekend ! Matt and family stayed just til after dinner Saturday and Merrill left after lunch today ! Now I have to get ready for the new work week once again !

Today I'm making the 'Rubber Chicken' recipe that is from the 'Fly Lady' so I'll be having chicken most of the week. There is nothing like leftovers when you're cooking for one, but this recipe is really for families, I just doing it on the smaller side of things.

Grandma Quote for today--
