Chapter 11, Page 26, Book 20

 I
am grateful for what I am and have. My Thanksgiving is perpetual.

Henry David Thoreau

Day 26  thankful for today

Now is no time to think of what you do not have. Think of what you can do with what there is.

Ernest Hemingway

No matter what, the only thing we can be sure of is this day. Tomarrow is not guaranteed and the future is unknown. We only have today to do what we can in the best way possible.

Even though this world has gone crazy here in my world it’s an ordinary day in time. I have what I need and don’t want for anything more.  I’m alive and healthy except for the aches and pains of old age.  What more could I ask.  I can still do what needs to be done but not much of anything extra.  Still it’s good enough for me and I’m a happy camper to be alive and well today.  Nothing can disturb my peace and contentment.

I’m safe and happy here at home which s my favorite place to be.  It’s warm and cozy and comfortable.

I don’t have any plans today, our family get together will be on Saturday this year..  I can look forward to it but the here and now is what’s important.  The past is long gone but I have today.

Time is a very misleading thing.  All there is ever, is the now.  We can gain experience from the past, but we can’t relive it; and we can hope for the future, but we don’t know  if there is one.

Each new day is a new beginning and I’m thankful for it. Focusing on the present moment can transform our perspective on life and rid us of our worries and depression.

Be happy in the moment, that’s enough.  Each moment is all we need, not more.

Mother Teresa

Have a blessed and Happy Thanksgiving!

  I love you all !

Definitely we can learn from the past even though we can't relive the past and go back in time. True too that we are basically not even guaranteed our next breath so we have to seize the moment and live for that moment and be grateful too along the way!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Indeed, what more could we ask? The older I get, the more I appreciate my mother's words, "Every day is a gift."

Yes- All we have is the day. Since I was a little girl I always sensed the passage of time. My parents remarked on it when I was young...and I mark the days in my head as they play out. I really try to live in the present and not look back or project into the future. That way, I can cherish the day I am in. xo Diana

Many of us are Thankful for being invited to your home every day. You exhibit that thankfulness we should all show. We are so very thankful for what we have, and also thankful to have you as an internet friend. Your 'happy thankful self' is contageous.
