Side by side or miles part, family is always connected by heart

April 9th - family is best

What can you do to promote world peace?  Go home and love your family.

Mother Teresa

Even though its easy to forget at times, family is the most important thing in the world. This could mean your mother, your father, your siblings, your grandparents, your aunts , your uncles, your in laws   For some, family is simply those with whole we share unconditional love.  We often take them for granted because they are always there.

Given their importance in our lives, it’s no wonder people throughout  history  are fascinated with the intricacies of familial love. I always wanted a large family.  I had many aunts and uncles and lots and lots of cousins so grew up with lots of family to love and I wanted to have one of my own.

No matter what or when I know they are there for me.  Their love seems to have no end.  They are what gives me the most happiness in life.  We enjoy each other’s company and love being together, but more than not, I’m alone.  Even before sheltering at home began, I was home alone.  They all have their own families and homes to care for.  A lot of them live far away.  That is why I was so thrilled to spend this past Christmas with most all of them in one place.

I love to see them all together in one place just like the old days, but that was not to be.  Thet moved away for one reason or another and I found my self here without them but they are always just as close by as my heart. That’s where I keep those I love.  Close to my heart forever.

When we do get together it’s as though we were never apart. We pick up right where we left off.  Happy times always.
That’s not to say we never quarreled or argued.  We always let every one have their  say.  They say that in times of test , family are best and it’s so true.  My family has kept in touch with me to let me know they are ok.  Some do my shopping every week and make sure I’m kept safe.  One DIL has made face  masks for every one.  I’ve received cheery notes and emails. One way or the other I know they care and I love each and everyone of my family.  They are the best part of me. Today’s pictures are more of family Christmas this past year.I’m so thankful that nothing prevented this family reunion.

Other things may change us, but we start and end with the family.

Family: where life begins and love never ends.

Just think what a wonderful gift God gave you and your family with that family together this past Christmas. I know not everyone was there but a big majority was. Great memories were made as well as tons of pictures taken. You can look back at those times with such fondness especially in these days and you can look ahead to other gatherings down the road, of which I know there will be them when everyone can stop social isolating. It is good you have the support you have! That is one of the benefits of a loving large family :)

Love seeing your family pictures. I have no immediate family, which I never expected, but that's how things happened. That said, I am blessed with two friends from childhood who are the sisters I never had. Their four children are my nieces and nephews and there is one great-niece now. We are in touch all of the time and I feel truly blessed that they are my family.

Like Carol (above), I was an only child. I've only my son - who means the world to me - but I feel darn blessed to have a few friends who feel like family. It sounds like your kids not only love one another, but seem to LIKE each other, too. That's so neat!

Love the family quotes you shared. So thankful for technology that makes we can still stay somewhat connected to our loved ones during this time.

Blessings, and stay safe!
