Chapter 1, Page 14, Book 20

Notice the rainbows after the rain..and when rain gets you down create your own sunshine because you are the only one who can

January 14th- make your own sunshine

You cannot control what happens to you, but you can control your attitude toward what happens to you , and in that, you will be mastering change rather than allowing it to master you.

Brian Tracy

Sometimes things just don’t go well,  but we can still make the best of a crappy day by bringing our own sunshine along.
Its easy to get wrapped up in stressful days, but one way is to do battle by creation your own sunshine. Helping a friend out, visiting a people. counting  your blessings , thinking happy thoughts.

We dont have to be defined by what happens to us, because we can always change our attitude about what ever happens to us.  Ive learned to look for the bright side of things.  It is always there the we take the time to look for it.

I havenseen the sunshine since I left Florida on Saturday, but still Ive had plenty of reasons to smile.  My family that lives here welcomed me home and were happy to see me back home again. Ive receive lots of hugs and warm greetings from all of them.  Ive made little headway on putting away Christmas but have enjoyed seeing my decorations up.  They remind me that every day can be Christmas when you have love in your heart.

I truly do have to make my own sunshine now that Im home.  There is nothing but grey skies here for the most part and if you let it, it can get you down.  Sunshine comes in many forms.  I play upbeat music and have found that citrus essential oils are mood lifters.  Try Orange, Lemon, Grapefruit all the Mandarins and Clementine Tangerine .

I wear bright colors and open the curtains on the windows so the light can come in. Happy colors are yellow, pink and orange which evoke positivity and energy.

And always remember to smile.  Do something nice for someone and light up their day with a sweet bright gesture.  Youll get smile, which will make you smile.

Wherever you go, no matter what the weather always bring your own sunshine

A smile can be your umbrella on a rainy day.

I'm going to read this to Tom the next time he gets to feeling down. Like the other night, he's so pessimistic about his upcoming doctors' appointments. I never thought about using essential oils to 'lighten' our home's atmosphere. Thanks for the tip!

PS - The Bible study ladies were talking yesterday about wanting to leave their trees up all year. We're not alone!

good visit and good advice a always. I think every one who reads you, believes that you live what you said:
I’ve learned to look for the bright side of things. It is always there the we take the time to look for it.

I've known several people who 'thought' what you said, but do not show it. WE KNOW you show it and enjoy dropping by for that 'ray of sunshine'.

Agreed! I have to make a choice to be happy and positive everyday...if not, life could get sucky really quick! Especially now that it is Winter! HA! Hugs! Have a great week!

I need to do more checking and reading out essential oils. I do know lavender is good for sleep, but that was good to know from reading your blog what are ones to use to brighten things up. We have plenty of sunshine these days but wanting a little warmer weather than the low 60s we've been getting.

It's a gray day here, too, and snow is predicted for later in the week. I'm visiting my blog friends to find some sunshine in the day.

I do try to bring a bit of sunshine into each day. When I moved to WI from FL my next door neighbors called me Sunshine...she said I had brought the light with me. I loved that! xo Diana

bringing sunshine to each day is important. i'm glad you are getting settled back into the routine of being home. i keep my christmas trees up year around. if we're feeling down and need a little christmas we turn the tree on and smile, especially if we're having a bad day. so take your time dismantling christmas. take care.

If you have a child who is not doing well in public school, you may want to consider homeschooling. This will also reduce the amount of stress and anxiety your child is faced with. You will also get a chance to bond with one another. It can open a whole new world of family bonding and shared learning experiences.

If you are going to be giving a massage, make sure that you are using lubricant. Lubricant can be any form of lotion or even therapeutic oils. Whichever you choose, make sure that it is appropriate for the recipient of the massage. Lubricants can help you glide across the body without disturbing the rhythmic movements.

Because you maintain your business from home, doesn't imply that it can't look proficient.
