Chapter 10, Page 2, Book 19

He that is good for making excuses is seldom good for anything else.

Benjamin Franklin

October 2nd -Starting now:  No more excuses.

Never make excuses.  Your friends don’t need them and your foes won’t believe them.

John Wooden

I’ve had to learn the hard way about making excuses.  Because our minds want what is comfortable.  It’s afraid of discomfort , pressure and change.  But the truth is the only person who can tell you , you can’t, is you;  Look for reasons you can do it, Believe you can and you will. Not by finding excuses, but looking  at what all the people that have had considerable obstacles and have done it anyway.  There lots of stories about of people with disabilities or illnesses who overcame their obstacles to achieve great things.  Happy successful people will never avoid responsibility and point fingers and make excuses for their life.  We write our own destiny through the choices we make every day.  You become what you repeatedly do. It’s important that we know what the important things in life are and prioritize them accordingly.

There are no short cuts to anywhere worth going .  There is no substitute for doing the work.  So think about this every day.  “ I will do the work.  It won’t be easy,  It will be worth it."  Sure you can always do it later, but your later self will feel the same exact way.  So today stop making excuses for why you can’t get it done and start focusing on all the reasons why you must make it happen.  Just do it and let your actions speak for themselves.  You never know what’s possible until you risk finding out.  In the long run, there is only one thing  that makes your dreams and goals  completely impossible to achieve: Your lack of action.

We are only human, we all have bad days, but just don’t stay down.  Rest and then pick yourself up so you can go where you want to be.  Mistakes only makes us wise.  Failure helps us grow.  Hope keeps us going.  And love is the reason we are here.  Keep learning, living and loving.

Success is never final, failure is never fatal. It is courage to continue that counts.

Winston Churchill

Life is what you make it. No one else can do it for you.

We're capable of doing much more than we think we can, and we're strong enough to endure situations we never believed possible. Just one foot in front of the other, one day at a time.

So true not to make excuses. It is easy to do sometimes. I make excuses thinking I'm too old for something or not coordinated enough or don't have the stamina to do things, but in reality there are lots of things I could do that I make excuses for :)

Yes! No excuses. Making excuses is another way of lagging behind in life.

oh yes we tend to want an excuse, or someone to blame a failure or miss-step on. But when we 'Grow-up' we learn that blame never fixes anything. You are so right.
Love from a nice warm day here in NC

So true!! Yet often, I find myself making excuses... It's something I work on. Hey, I still haven't been able to comment on blogs, even doing what you said.. I'm on my MacBook Pro now... but when I am on my MAC - it seems I'm always 'signed out' and there's no way to sign back in. I'm just going to try and use my MacBook more often. Thanks though, for the info.
