Chapter 10, Page 14, Book 19

Stop looking for happiness in the same place you lost it. Discover new places.  Open your mind.

October 14th -  The best preparation for tomorrow is today

Yesterday is gone.  Tomorrow has not yet come.  We have only today.  Let us begin.

Mother Theresa

So many people long for a yesterday they thought was better than what they have today, but yesterday is done and never coming back.  We have only today to do that which must be done and to try to enjoy every minute of it while it’s here.  Every day is such a gift!

There are two days in every week which we should not worry,
Two days which should be kept free of fear and apprehension.

One of these days is Yesterday.
With it’s mistakes and cares.
It’s faults and blunders,
It’s aches and pains
Yesterday has passed forever beyond our control.

All the money in the world cannot bring back Yesterday.
We cannot undo a single act we preformed;
We cannot erase a single word we sid.

Yessterday is gone.

The other day we should not worry about is Tomorrow.
With its possible adversities, its burdens.  its larger promise.
Tomorrow is also beyond our immediate control.

Tomorrow the sun will rise,
Either in splendor or behind a mask of clouds,
but it will rise.
Until it does, we have no stake in tomorrow
For it is yet unborn

This leaves only one day - Today.
Any man can fight the battles of just one day.
It’s only when you and I add the burdens of those two awful eternities of yesterday and tomorrow, that we break down.

It is not the experience of today that drives men mad.
It is remorse or bitterness for something which happened yesterday
And the dread of what Tomorrow may bring.

Let us therefor, live but one day at a time.

We all feel down sometimes; like the pressures of the world are closing in on us.  Once in a while, we need to be reminded…that everyone in the world suffers from heartbreaks and disillusions of life.

Pass this poem on to someone you care about and let them know you share their hurts and that they are not alone.

I hope your today is better than yesterday.

How true, how true! Yesterday is gone! Why is that so hard to get thru our heads. I just read a couple of these 'quotes and graphics' to Sherry before she gets here. I couldn't resist!
Love sent from down this way, we are cooling off heading toward Fall weather..

I am going to pass that poem along to others and keep a copy close by for me to read. I do like that quote that worrying takes away our peace. These days I'm always worried about checking my work email to see if I've failed any audits and it ruins my days off because I'm worrying ahead wondering what lies in store for me. I'm going to work on not being so worried and start thinking more peaceful thoughts instead! No good worrying about tomorrow but should try to live today fully!

Our Bible study ladies were discussing this very thing this morning. "Remorse and bitterness" -- yep. Unfortunately, I know those two scoundrels intimately.
I, too, will be clipping and keeping that poem near.
