Chapter 9, Page 13, Book 19

Nobody gets through life without losing a few things on the way

Neil Gaiman

September  13th - lost and found

The beast test of courage on earth is to bear defeat without loosing heaert.

Robert Breen Ingersoll

We are always loosing things, but there are some things that are more noticeable than others..  Most of the time we dont know the true value of something until its lost.  We take so many things for granted.  The lost and found department here at my house is one of the busiest places in my house.  There are even times something will stare me right in the face and I dont see iit.

Learning to treasure what youve got before you loose it is a challenge.  Unfortunately many only realized the fortune they had when they loose it.  We have become accustom to the blessings in our daily life that take most of it for granted.  Instead most peoplle focus on what they dont have .  From material things to various ideals .It becomes difficult to notice all those things we might have eventually .  Time is one of those treasures. We fail to take notiece of all the small wonders that happen day after day.  Most people are so preoccupied with the things they dont have that they overlook the beauty this is already in their lives.

Lost time is never found again.

Benjamin Franklin

People are blindsided by the fancy, shiny, glorious objects in the distance so that they dont take notice of the treasures that are already present in their lives.  Most of these treasures might not sparkle like diamonds, they have no price tag, but more often than not they turn out to be the precious things that make our life worth living .

Dont wait until youve lost them in order to appreciate their value. Find the value of what you have while you have it.

Friendship is a priceless treasure never to be bought or sold - it can only be cherished.

Enjoy the things in life such as a smile or a hug. The most simple things can bring the most happiness.

Sobering but so true: "Most of the time we don’t know the true value of something until it’s lost." Unfortunately, I've been witness to that very sentiment on more than one occasion.

I guess it's human nature to assume that the things... and people... we treasure will always be there. It's a rude awakening when we realize that isn't necessarily true.

Yes it is strange what we take for granted. Simply breathing without effort. I once lost the use of an arm above shoulder height. The shoulder rotor just refused to let me go above a certain height. I was amazed at the times I had raised my arm over my head and never gave it a thought.
So many 'senses' we have to appreciate. Thanks for the reminder.
