Chapter 9, Page 12, Book 19

Variety’s the very spice of life, that gives it all it’s flavour.

William Cowper

September 12th  -variety is the spice of life

Be aware of wonder, Live a balance life - learn some and think some and draw and paint and sing and dance and play and work some every day

Robert Fulghum

If we do the same thing over and over, soon or later we are going to get bored. But we don’t have to wait for something new of different to happen, we can create something nice for ourselves.  Every day can be a new adventure when we make it so.

We all can create some variety in our lives and make it more exciting.  I like to do a lot of different things so for me that is not hard at all.  I never have a boring day.  Some days I paint, sometimes, I read a book, other days I clean my house. Today I’m finishing up decorating for fall, which is something I do for each season of the year.  It changes the whole look of my house.  What was summer has now become fall here, just by switching out the decorations.

Just by changing a few things, I add some variety to my life.  I can also do that by changing where I sit each day. By going out on the sunporch, I get to see a lot of variety.  Nature is never boring and I’m thankful I have a choice.

Never feel like you are stuck in one place, variety will help keep you going.  No day will be ordinary when we take the time to enjoy it to the fullest.  If we get bored, it’s no one’s fault but our self, if you want to be happy, do something different and break up your routine.  Your day can turn in to something extra ordinary!

The secret of happiness is variety but the secret of variety like the secret of spice, is know when to use it.

Now I love to see a variety of places and talk to folks from many places. BUT it seems with food, I seldom venture out past our routines. However I do agree with the post, Variety is good. Some of us old folk must be jarred from our 'routine'.
Thanks for the visit to your house.

Definitely that is why, like you mentioned, variety is the spice of life. Without it, life would be so dull and at times so monotonous. Its always good to have several things we enjoy doing and then those things we have to do to break up our days and for us to enjoy life!

I've not many seasonal decorations … until I visited the Dollar Store a few days ago. For just a few $, now our dining room has a whole new look. Even hubby commented!

I heard today on the radio - give kids a variety of veggies at their meal to pick from and they eat veggies better!
