Chapter 7, Page 4, Book 19

The United States is the only country with a known birthday.

James G. Blaine

July 4th - Happy Birthday!

One flag, one land, one heart, one hand, one nation forevermore!

Oliver Wendel Holmes

Today is the birthday of our country and it seems we all celebrate it one way or the other.  Many have fireworks, picnics, and parades.  It’s a day worth celebrating for sure.  It’s a birthday party for everyone, young and old, and it takes place in peoples backyards, at fairgrounds, and parks, on beaches and streets.

Across the county, Americans will don the red white and blue to celebrate.   It’s a birthday bash that reminds us of what it means to be an American.  It means we treat our fellow Americans with respect and that we don’t judge people because of the color, religion or their beliefs.  Being an American is being loyal to our Country and helping out an any way we can.

I feel very privileged to live in this great country.  The USA is a special place to call home.  We have rights that other countries don’t have and we often take them for granted.  There are many people around the world that would be grateful for the opportunities and freedoms we have every day.

Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us as a nation  Then conquer we must, for our cause is just. And this be our motto:  In God is our trust. And the star spangled banner forever shall wave O’re the land of the free and the home of the brave!

F Scott Fitzgerald

So cute with the patriotic little one! This is a great country to live in. Its sad that some people don't think it is and want to criticize it, but we have so many privileges and rights here that others from other countries literally fight their way into living here. Hope its a nice day for you Ma!
