Chapter 7, Page 17, Book 19

The key is not to prioritize whats on your schedule, but to schedule your priorities.

Stephen R. Covey

July 17th - First things first.

The older I get the more wisdom I find in the ancient rule of taking first things first.  A process which often reduces the most complex human problem to a manageable proportion.

Dwight D. Eisenhower

Putting first things first means doing the most important things first. It means to o do the things in their proper order and being clear about your priorities.   It’s important to set time aside for things that truly matter. When you do the important things first then everything seems to easily fall together.

Knowing the importance of a task will help you determine if you need to get it done today, tomorrow next week, or never.  When something has been on your to do list for a really long time, it’s usually a pretty good sign that it’s not important.

If we spend all our time on the small and insignificant things we’ll run out of time for the things that ore actually important.

Things that matter most must never be at the mercy of things which matter least.

Johann Goethe.

The important things in life are the ones that truly matter.

Several times in my life I have broken the rule of priorities! Spending too much time of trivial things and being PUSHED to get the important things done. So this makes what you are saying so true in my own life. have a good day...

I like that Ma if something has been on my to do list for a long time and I haven't done it, its probably not all that important. I'm thinking of removing some things that have been on my list way too long but now that I look at them, they aren't really that important. Good advice!

Ah! Were it not for my ever-present lists! Almost every day I have to re-examine and re-prioritize the contents, depending on "what fire burns highest" at the time. Sadly, after a while, some items just fall off. Such is life.
