Chapter 7, Page 16, Book 19

Sometimes we win, sometimes we learn

John C. Maxwell

July 16th - winning isn’t everything

Life is a game, play it.

Mother Teresa

All mistakes are lessons in disguise if we are open to learning from the experience.  We win or we lose.  And sometimes we have to learn the hard way.  You really can learn from losing and even though it’s not ideal , it helps you in the long run.

I was always told that it isn’t about winning or losing, it’s about how you play the game.  We should feel good knowing that we did our best with what we are given.  People are not going to remember that you won, but they will remember how you acted and how you treated other people for it.

Wining isn’t everything, sometimes it’s good to lose.

I'm with TT, beautiful pictures! Love 'em.
As I read the good advice I thought of a friend who said, "I learn from my mistakes, but do I really need THAT much education!"
I too make my share of mistakes. It would be nice if some of them weren't so public or glaring. LOL
Great visit,
Sherry & jack still on the road around Lancaster County.

Those are great pictures of your grandsons supporting their teams or playing on teams! It is good to learn how to play fairly, correctly and to learn how to handle defeat as well as not to be too arrogant with wins. I remember Cam Newton, the quarterback of the North Carolina Panthers, when his team was playing the Arizona Cardinals for a championship game. They were clearly out winning the Cardinals and Cam Newton was just strutting about so full of himself. Two weeks later his team is playing in the Super Bowl and losing badly and he was a different player. Dejected, almost throwing tantrums. No one likes to lose but losing is part of any game that is played.

Learning to be a 'good sport' is critical. Were it not for a few dedicated coaches and parents, I'm afraid that's another tenet that's going by the way.

I did not know Mother Teresa said that. Interesting. Okay so I think IF you don't lose - it is very harmful to life and so is too much

I rarely come across a quote I haven’t read before but the one today is one I never heard.
It’s rang true to me.
