Chapter 7, Page 15, Book 19

In life we never lose friends, we only learn who the true ones are.

July 15 - friendship

A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out.

Walter Winchell

The people I consider to be my best friends are the ones that have been around a long time.  Weve known each other for years and years and even though we dont see each other often, its like weve never really been apart.

Over the years Ive had a lot of different friends, but they moved away or moved on to different interests that no longer included me, but the true friends are the ones that remain in my life no matter where theyve gone or what they are doing.

The only way to have a friend is to be one.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

We make a lot of different friends in life , but true friends are hard to come by.  Friendships take time to grow. They stand the test of time. Our shared memories , moments in time, are something we’ll never have with anyone else.

We need to nurture our friendships and let our friends know how much they mean to us.  You can’t have a friend, if you are not a friend.  It’s a two way process.    In the end there are only a few that will truly matter and life is much more fulfilling when they are by our side.

A friend is one of the nicest things you can have, and one of the best things you can be.

Douglas Pagels

I have learned I cannot actually share a friends load, we carry our own, but I can be there. I have friends who are ALWAYS THERE! And that is what I need.
Methinks you are our on line philosopher! Thanks.

I was just thinking about the different friends I've have over the years. A lot of them I have not seen in years and probably won't see them again, but I think we would still call ourselves friends if we had the opportunity to hang out together. It is interesting how life events does take away chances to see some friends and spend time with them, but I do appreciate the friends I have and the times we get to spend together. So true that one has to be a friend to have a friend. It does take work to maintain a friendship if one truly wants to maintain that close fellowship with another.
