You can excel in any walk of life, any stage of life, all you need is the two traits of focus and concentration to compliment your ability to work hard.
June 4th - focus on what’s important
Don’t dwell on what went wrong. Instead, focus on what to do next
When I focus on what is important in my life it’s easier to set goals and make plans for what I need to do. Everything that I do, evolves around three things, my faith, my family and my friends. They are what is important in my life.
I know that I have to make lists, set dates on the calendar, and plan my time carefully. The older I get the slower I go, so keeping my focus has become more and more important these days.
I like to do a lot of different things and enjoy them all, but I’ve learned to pick and choose my priorities. When I worked it was the same. I had to choose what needed my attention first and then do what could wait until later.
There are always going to be distractions and interruptions, that try to steal our focus away, that’s why I try to be flexible and will turn my focus to something else, if it’s needed. Not everything is truly important though, and deciding what is a priority is up to us. It’s not easy but a good way to live in order to do what must be done.
The main thing is to keep the main thing a main thing.
