Chapter 6, Page 25, Book 19

Blessed is he who expects nothing, for he shall never be disappointed.

Alexander Pope

June 25th -  Hope more, expect less

I find my life is a lot easier the lower I keep my expectations.

Bill Watterson

True,  but not always, the case, I think we all have expectations of one kind or another.  Maybe it would be good to lower our expectations, but somehow I cannot help but have them.

The problem of expectation happens when we expect something to happen without good reason.  Merely expecting something is not going to make it happen.

We set ourselves up for disappointment if we believe that expectations will bring us what we want.  Expecting life to turn out the way we want it is guaranteed to frustration and resentment.

It’s more reasonable to expect the unexpected.  Having  hope rather than expectations, you will not be as disappointed. In all things it is better to hope than to despair.

Positive expectations are the mark of the superior personality.

Brian Tracey

Always keep hope in your hearts...

That's true about expectations. If we set them too high then we can be disappointed when they don't come to be or turn out differently than we hoped. We should always have hope, just be realistic and not expect the outcome that we think we might get.

So true … I've set myself up for disappointment more times than I care to admit.

this post is very good. when you said:

I have found that to be a VERY TRUE statement in my life also. I am presently 'eyeing' and hoping for a special thing in my son's life. BUT I also know it just might not happen.
I enjoyed the read lady.
