Chapter 5, Paage 19, Book 19

Respect for ourselves guides our morals, respect for others guides our manners.

Laurence Sterne

May 19th - with all due respect

Respect is a two way street, if you want to get it, youve got to give it.

R. G. Risch

Every one deserves a certain amount of respect.  To have no respect for someone would mean you believe they are beneath you.  One of the wisest things my mother ever taught me was that I was no better than anyone else, and that they were no better than me.  We are all created equal.

Every human being deserves to be treated with dignity.   Whether we like them or not , everyone deserves to be treated with politeness and kindness. We may disagree, but we should always respect each other.

Most people consider respect to be important, but sometimes it seems as if there is a significant lack of respect in the world. For me, theres no excuse for being consciously disrespectful to other people.  We should always treat others the way we would want to be treated.  What we give always comes back.

To laugh often and much; To win the respect of intelligent people nd the affection of children; To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friend; To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; To leave the world a bit betterwhether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.  This is to have succeeded.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

The world would be a better place if we all lived by the Golden Rule...

My mama was known to tell me:
"IT IS do unto others as you would like them to do unto you, NOT: Do unto others as they do unto you! Son there is a big difference!"

You said it well!

We have a beautiful day here, and I think Summer has made it!
Have a great day,

So true to show respect to others, even if they are not being respectful to you. We are all created the same indeed and everyone deserves to be treated with kindness. A lesson that should be taught often in young people's lives.

What a wise mother you had! I've often thought, it's not necessary to LIKE my boss, but I could never work for someone I didn't respect.
Sure, in some cases there were trying times … ha. But if you dig deep enough, one can always find SOMETHING admirable. Happy Sunday!
