Respect for ourselves guides our morals, respect for others guides our manners.

Respect is a two way street, if you want to get it, you’ve got to give it.
R. G. Risch
Every one deserves a certain amount of respect. To have no respect for someone would mean you believe they are beneath you. One of the wisest things my mother ever taught me was that I was no better than anyone else, and that they were no better than me. We are all created equal.
Every human being deserves to be treated with dignity. Whether we like them or not , everyone deserves to be treated with politeness and kindness. We may disagree, but we should always respect each other.
Most people consider respect to be important, but sometimes it seems as if there is a significant lack of respect in the world. For me, there’s no excuse for being consciously disrespectful to other people. We should always treat others the way we would want to be treated. What we give always comes back.
To laugh often and much; To win the respect of intelligent people nd the affection of children; To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friend; To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
