Chapter 3, Page 9, Book 19

You must learn day by day, year by year to broaden your horizon, The more things you love, the more you are interested in, the more you are interested in, the more you enjoy, the more you are indignant about, the more you have left when anything happens.

Ethel Barrymore

March 9 - broad horizons

Make each day a new horizon.

Christopher McCandless

The definition of expanding your horizons usually means learning or experiencing something you have never done before.  The simplest way I know of to do that is just change to your view.

We often need a new perspective, a new way of doing things.  When we change the way we view things, a whole new world comes into sight.

Ah, Springtime and what a perfect time to widen our horizons and take into consideration that not everything is as it seems. We get so caught up in our own lives that we forget to look at the bigger picture.

Being outside gives us a chance to greet our neighbors and meet new friends.  Sometimes it is working together with others that can alter our views and build a bridge to a new perspective.  Like it or not we’re interdependent on each other and probably have more similarities than differences.

Don’t limit yourself.  We can move beyond the normal and mediocre to the extraordinary when we see beyond ourselves, widen our horizons and enjoy the view

Keep your friendships in repair, and then see if you do not find your horizon broadened, your life sweetened , and the weird weight of this sad old world lightened.

Silas X. Floyd

Sometimes you all you need is to change your view...

True that it is good to go out and widen our horizons. It is a good way to learn new things or experience new things for sure. And like you said, changing our view is a good way to start!

Have a great Saturday.

Caught up, yes. I'm usually reluctant to change my beliefs, my ways of doing things. In fact, I've even been known to 'get my back up' and resist, 'just because.' (Silly, no?)
Better that I think of changing my point of view as an invitation. Thank you for your gentle suggestion!

We all need a new perspective at times. Right now I am trying, really trying to look at life more and more as a subject I must accept vs change. My changing someone else's live just isn't working. LOL I think it worked up to about the age of 2 or 3! LOL

I think we need to make a list of things we want to do - and if we can - do them!

i think expanding your horizon is a good place to start each day. "Don’t limit yourself. We can move beyond the normal and mediocre to the extraordinary when we see beyond ourselves, widen our horizons and enjoy the view."

I love learning and broadening my horizons. I think it also helps keeps us younger in many ways. There are so many new things to explore and learn. More than we will ever be able to visit in our lifetimes. xo Diana
