Chapter 3, Page 22, Book 19

Endurance is not just the ability to bear a hard thing, but to turn it into glory.

William Barclay

March 22nd- endurance

Endurance is patience concentrated.

Thomas Carlyle

Patience and endurance seem to got together.  We all need to learn to be patient.  There is a right time for everything under heaven.  If we’re not patient we will rush head on and things will tend to end up a mess.  This is where endurance comes in. We need to endure what seems to us, long periods of time when we need to be patient, waiting for the right moment to move on.

Good things come with endurance. What we’ve been working for and hoping for comes with patient endurance.

One verse that always inspires me comes from the Bible.

Isaiah 40: 31

…but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles,They shall run and not grow weary,
they shall walk and not be faint.

We can all soar like the eagles with a little patience and endurance.

Do what you have to do until you can do what you want to do.

After a couple of Spring like days here, we are once again enduring some cold and maybe snow today. But I'm patient and waiting for warmer days ....

You are so right- patience and endurance go together...and sometimes we need those more than at other times...cancer....waiting diagnosis, etc.
Spring is almost here--I can't wait.
Have a blessed weekend- xo Diana

Ahhhhh, what a lesson here. As time goes on it seems the world as a whole has very little patience, but life itself teaches us, patience is smart. Good things come, if we just have patience.
Another good lesson.

I hadn't put it together before, but it is true that patience and endurance do go together. I looked up a quick Google search and there are several Bible verses that list patience and endurance together. I guess God is telling us we need both of them. I know I can be impatient at times and have trouble enduring some of the hard things going on at times, but something definitely to think about to have patient endurance.

What a wonderful post! It's very true that patience and endurance seem to go hand-in-hand.

When I was a young girl, my mother used to recite this poem:

"Patience is a virtue;
Keep it if you can.
Seldom found in women,
And never found in men."

Have a wonderful weekend!

Aside from Olympians and professional athletes, I don't think 'endurance' is heard so very often. Neat coupling with patience. I hope these two make a comeback to our everyday language - and actions - soon!
