Chapter 11, Page 25, Book 18

I expect to pass through this world but once; any good thing therefore that I can do, or any kindness that I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now; let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.

Stephan Grellet

Today I’m thankful for Kindness

The best portion of a good man’s life; his little nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and love.

William Wordsworth

As far as I’m concerned life is just too short to be anything but kind.  There is not room in my life for negative thinking, anger or bitterness.  When you’ve lived a full long life like mine, you come to realize the important things in life.  It might be nice to be important, but it is much more important to be nice.

Kindness matters and makes such a difference.  Being kind is the best way to live your life. When you are kind to others, it not only changes you, it changes the world.  Individually each of us has the incredible power to affect another person’s life - for the positive or negative.  Everything we think, say, and do matters immensely.

We all have the opportunity to make someone’s day a little brighter.  We always have the chance to choose kindness and compassion.  One of the easiest ways to spread joy from one person to another is to show them kindness.

On my thankful list for today:

6553. for a whole month until Christmas
6554.  for a warmer day to get the decorations out of the storage unit
6555. for the coming season of Advent, a time to prepare

Two words that say it all:  Kindness matters

Don’t underestimate the value of being kind to others.  One act of small kindness can release an enormous chain of positive events.

You cannot do a kindness too soon because you never know how soon it will be too late.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.

This is one thing I preach to my grandkids--to be kind to everyone because you never know what heartache they may be hiding...especially those kids in school that are 'brats'...there is usually something much deeper going on at home.
Have a blessed Sunday- xo Diana

I like your comment "kindness matters." It truly does. And especially this time of year we need to put on an extra dose of kindness since it can be a stressful time trying to get everything done.

Famous quote for sure: Be kind one to another!
Yes a kind person is a treasure to the world. Being kind one reaps the personal joy of life.
Just a month 'til Christmas, hard to believe.

I'm reminded of simple acts of kindness this weekend on football fields all across the country. When a bus crash precluded band members from attending the Apple Bowl, the opposing team's band played BOTH fight songs in their honor. Even the rancor which supposedly exists between Alabama and Auburn was put aside when one player appeared seriously injured and members from both teams took to their knees. These kids' hearts are in the right place.
