May no gift be too small to give, nor too simple to receive, which is wrapped in thoughtfulness and tied with love.

The giver is the greatest recipient
It takes great generosity to accept generosity
Merle Shain
There are times I feel like I’m on the giving end and other times I feel like I’m always taking with nothing to give back in return. I think we’ve all had times like that at one time or another. Life is full of give and take and you really don’t get one without the other.
When I was younger and had family at home, I really felt like I was always giving and getting nothing back in return, but as I’ve gotten older, I feel like I’m getting a lot more than I give.
They say that the act of giving can produce satisfaction, which comes when the givers sees the recipient’s gratitude. When we focus on someone else, rather than ourselves, it improves our moods. I know I love to see someone’s face light up when I give them something.
Just as we need to be cheerful givers we also need to be cheerful receivers and acknowledge the gifts we get and be grateful for them.
Life is full of give and take. Give thanks and take nothing for granted.

Give someone a smile today, it's a sure way to get one back! ***SMILE***
Smiling back at you today, Ma! I think that is how life works, we do give and we do take during periods of our lives. We need sometimes to learn how to be gracious when we are on the taking side of it and allow people to be generous if they can and be thankful for what we get.

we need to be thankful for the things we get. and to give when we can. "Life is full of give and take."
I used to find it quite difficult to accept unsolicited gifts or generosity. Hopefully, I'm finding it easier to be gracious ... both in giving and receiving. It's a delicate balance!
So true---we need to be thankful for what is given. I am much better at giving than receiving. I know I need to work on that.
