Chapter 6, Page 26, Book 18

I hope you’re proud of yourself for all the times you’ve said yes, when all it meant was extra work or you and was seemingly helpful only to someone else.

Fred Rogers

Time spent helping others is never wasted time.

Giving whether it be of time, labor, affection, advice, gifts or whatever, is one of life’s greatest pleasures.

Rebecca Russell

There is always time for the right things in life.  Family, friends, health, happiness and chances to help others.  Helping others is one of the most important things you will ever do in your life.

It’s possible that helping others does more for the happiness of the person helping than the person who receives the help.  By looking at the challenges in others lives, it make you more acceptable of the stress and hardships we all have to face.

They say if you want to live longer, be a giver.   It lowers rates of depression and puts you in a better mood.  Doing good makes us happier which in turn makes us healthier.

Our lives will always be full if our hearts are always giving.

You started my day off RIGHT with this:

Thanks lady, you have a way of saying something I need to hear!

It truly is always good to give and to help others. I didn't realize it also had a health benefit associated with it too!

I think giving of our time and personal resources (when possible) always feels better than simply writing a check. There's usually little-to-no emotion involved in the latter. It's always a good idea to pause and step out of our own shoes, so to speak.
