Adopt the pace of Nature; her secret is patience
Ralph Waldo Emerson
Patience and perseverance have a magical effect before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish.
John Quincy Adams
As I sit here today I’m reminded there is yet another winter storm headed our way and I’m looking forward to Spring when everything feels new again.
I’m not so sure that patience is what I’m feeling at all, but am sure that this winter will eventually pass and Spring will come again. I just have to wait a little longer.
This coming weekend we will set out clocks ahead one hour as Daylight Savings Time returns. The days are getting longer. There are signs that Spring is coming. But still we wait.
Our lives seem to be one big hurry up and wait. The word wait means to expect or to look for. If we hope for what we have not seen, we patiently wait for it.
Spring will be worth the wait. It’s like a reward for preserving all those cold days of winter.
Have courage for the great sorrows of life, and patience for the small ones. When you have laboriously accomplished your daily tasks, go to sleep in peace. God is awake.
