Chapter 12, Page 31, Book 17

Should auld acquaintance be forgot
and never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
and days of auld lang syne?
For auld lang syne, my dear,
for auld lang syne,
we'll take a cup of kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

 Robert Burns

Here we are on the verge of another year.  It’s the perfect day to reflect on the past year’s blessings and to set our hopes on those yet to come.

New Year's Eve is filled with memories of the past for me. And I’ll never forget the many good times that were had with family and friends.

Not only is it filled with memories but it is also filled with hopes for the New Year.  There is a feel of all things being made new in the air too.

In the final month,
December,
we often find magic in other people,
places and things.
As the year comes to an end,
open your heart and embrace
whatever may come you way.
Decide what you love
and what you want to leave behind
as you prepare to embark
on a new year of life.

I relish the feeling of both saying good bye to an old year and welcoming in a new year at the same time.  We say good bye to old ways and hello to new possibilities.  This is a day to be amazed at God’s blessing and to know that even better things have yet to come!

So … Should auld acquaintance be forgot and never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot and days of auld lang syne? For auld lang syne, my dear, for auld lang syne, we'll take a cup of kindness yet, for auld lang syne.

Ring out the old, ring in the new!

Remember:

Tomorrow is the first blank page of a 365-page book. Write a good one.

I'd be stumped to define 'auld lang syne' ... but I LOVE that song.

Here's something I shared on my Facebook page this morning -- excerpted from SeanDietrich.com. I hope you like it, too:
"... New Year’s is one day away, which makes me happy and sad.
Happy—because time keeps going forward and everything changes. And sad—because time keeps going forward. And everything changes."
