Chapter 12, Page 30, Book 17

The past does not equal the future.

 Tony Robbins

As we review the past year, it’s good to remember that for the good or bad these days were a part of our lives.

We cannot change the past. but learn from it.  The future is not ours to see, but to plan for it. The present is what we have so we should enjoy it.

Choices are the hinges of destiny.

Edwin Markham

The choices you make and the decisions you make have a long lasting impact on your life. We live with those choices for the rest of our lives and believe me when I say this, the rest of your life is a pretty long period. Whether you feel it immediately or not, your life is being shaped by the choices you are making in the present.

We can’t undo the past, but we can always learn from it. Choices are the building blocks of our lives and despite all the mistakes one makes, a new day brings with itself new opportunities and a whole new world of choices.

The power of choice. You have it. But you forfeit it when you imagine that you can choose for others. You can't. But you can choose for yourself…

Harry Browne

Every choice you make today is also a choice for tomorrow.  You only have one life. And yet you always have lots of choices. About how you respond to what has happened to you in your life and what you do with it as a result.

We can decide that our future can be bigger and better than our past.

You are in the driver's seat of your life and can point your life down any road you want to travel. You can go as fast or as slow as you want to go. . . . and you can change the road you're on at any time.

Jinger Heath

So true that we can't change the past, but we can indeed learn from it.

I liked the graphic "The past is the learning, the future is where it is applied, don't give up in the middle." I have saved it to send to my family! good stuff. sherry will be here later, but we both laughed at the last sentence of Heath's quote:
"and you can change the road you're on at any time."
Love it. It is always a good visit to MA's house!

I hope I've learned from the past. Moving into the new year with optimism. I've got some goals to pursue and I know I can change lanes. Keep cozy!

Ironic! When I commented on your previous post last night I came THIS close to repeating that quote by Tony Robbins! For a while there, I was a big-time follower of his books and tapes ... and even attended a couple seminars (which I could ill afford). What a shame they didn't 'take'! LOL.

Tho' it's sometimes uncomfortable to recall the past, I'm blessed to have learned from my mistakes. The future? Che sera, sera!

This quote sums it all up for me. "We cannot change the past. but learn from it. The future is not ours to see, but to plan for it. The present is what we have so we should enjoy it."
