Chapter 12, Page 23, Book 17

Each day comes bearing its own gifts. Untie the ribbons.

Ruth Ann Schabacker

December 23rd

What is important in a gift is the thought behind it, not the money spent on it.

There is no place like home for the holidays and family focused gifts may just fit the bill.

Today’s gift suggestion:

If your family doesn’t have and updated family tree, put one together and send it to every one in it’s branches.

Family, like branches in a tree, we all grow in different directions, yet our roots remain as one.  Each of our lives will always be a special part of the other’s.

They say that genealogy is the 2nd most popular hobby in the United States these days.  Each family is unique, so why not celebrate your special family ties by creating a family tree.

One way to compile a family history is to concentrate on veterans, whether from the American Revolutions or dos recent military  service.

Put together a histy of each veteran, giving details of their service with accompanying documentation if you have it.

The best of all gifts around any Christmas tree the presence of a happy family all wrapped up in each other.

I had an aunt who was into genealogy. She did a great family tree that she passed on to each of us. Truly treasured!

I tried the genealogy trip on our family. BOY does the tree grow! I did learn a lot. BUT your idea of Veterans of the family to be spotlighted is a great idea.
Once again
MERRY CHRISTMAS, I don't think it can be said or written too much.

making a family tree is time consuming but you will be blessed to have done it. "Family, like branches in a tree, we all grow in different directions, yet our roots remain as one. "
