Each day comes bearing its own gifts. Untie the ribbons.

Giving

The best thing to give to your enemy is forgiveness; to an opponent, tolerance; to a friend, your heart; to your child, a good example; to a father, deference; to your mother, conduct that will make her proud of you; to yourself, respect; to all men.

Henry Ward Beecher

Giving is an act of love that comes back on to us and multiples our own blessings.

Today’s gift Suggestions:

A Hopes and Dreams Jar

Give an empty jar with a bunch of blank strips of paper and tell your friends or family to write their hopes and dreams on the slips  and put them in the jar.

At the end of the coming year, it will be interesting to see how far they came in realizing their dreams.

O little town of Bethlehem,
How still we see thee lie.
Above thy deep and dreamless sleep.
The silent stars go by;
Yet in thy dark streets shineth.
The everlasting Light.
The hopes and fears of all the years.
Are met in thee tonight.

Phillip Brooks

Young or old we al have hopes and dreams.  While I try to live one day at a time, it’s still nice to make plans for the future. I may not have great aspirations, still they are there.

If people didn’t dream a little, a many great things would never have been accomplished    And if we didn’t have hope in our lives, life would come to mean less and less.

Whenever you find yourself
doubting how far you can go,
Just remember how far you have come.
Remember everything you have faced,
all the battles you have won,
and all the fears you have overcome.

In comparing gifts easy to get and give. Forgiveness is a wonderful gift, but one to th hardest to WRAP up and deliver.

Another cute gift suggestion! Methinks it might also be 'something different' for the new graduate or given at a wedding.

So do you find the kids of today - a little less respectful than they used to be? My hubs and I were just talking about that today.
