Chapter 8, Page 2, Book 17

Trouble knocked on the door, but, hearing laughter, hurried away.

Benjamin Franklin

Laugh – it feels good and it’s good for you

I have seen what a laugh can do. It can transform almost unbearable tears into something bearable, even hopeful.

 Bob Hope

For most of us laughter doesn’t come very often, yet the magic it performs on our well being can’t be denied. It helps you enjoy friends and family. It diffuses stressful situations and it allows you the opportunity to keep things in perspective.

In times of adversity, humor helps you to cope and survive. It helps you recognize absurdities in situations, and eases the tension.

One thing I know for sure is that happiness doesn’t always make us grateful, but gratitude always helps us smile.  Some may say that’s a cliché, but it’s not.  Gratitude is the foundation.  And happiness is simply the sacred experience of living with a genuinely grateful heart.

Gratitude helps you to grow and expand; gratitude brings joy and laughter into your life and into the lives of all those around you.

I liked the Bob Hope quote, but you said it better with:
"laughter doesn’t come very often, yet the magic it performs on our well being can’t be denied."

I have seen it more than once. A wise person at times makes you laugh when you are sure laughter is a million miles away! Spot ON!

laughter is the best medicine it's true. "Gratitude is the foundation. "

Yep, laughter -- and gratitude -- are the proverbial icing on the cake!
