Flower power

Flowers always make people better, happier, and more helpful; they are sunshine, food and medicine for the soul.

 Luther Burbank

It’s no secret that flowers have a way of bringing happiness to people. They can relish all five senses with their look and smell.  I love flowers and that's no secret either.

It’s a proven fact that flowers lift our spirits and remind us of happy times. They make us happier, they relieve stress and they improve our attitudes.

Specific colors can invigorate, harmonize and relax you. Each one creates a different mood and causes an immediate effect on your energy. Imagine colors as having personalities. Blue reminds us of the sky and ocean, creating calm and imagination. Green reminds us of nature and is very healing. Red is the color for passion and love. They say if you are feeling a little blah and need a boost of energy, buy yourself some colorful flowers!

One of my favorites, the sunflower,  can enhance alertness. Yellow light waves stimulate the brain, making one alert, clear headed and decisive. And because people generally associate yellow with the sun's rays and daylight, it's said to help people feel more optimistic.

Flowers don't worry about how they're going to bloom. They just open up and turn toward the light and that makes them beautiful.

Jim Carrey

Flowers are a symbol for sharing.  They  make our environment more welcoming and create a sharing atmosphere.  It’s no wonder they say to stop and smell the roses….we all need to appreciate the flowers in our life.

The flower that follows the sun does so even in cloudy days.

Robert Leighton

Flowers really are refreshing for our hearts and minds and souls. I always like looking at the floral department at the stores, so bright and cheery.

Just taking time to study any flower in depth, causes AW and amazement as you feel better!

That's interesting about the meaning of differing colors.
I love leafy green plants, but my favorite is, as yours, the buttery yellow sunflower.

I like the notion too. "They say if you are feeling a little blah and need a boost of energy, buy yourself some colorful flowers!"
