Praise for the morning

Another day is dawning
Another day's begun
Another day to turn to God
And pray, Thy will be done

A day to slay doubt's dragon,
To know within your soul
That as you give yourself to Him
He'll bless and make you whole.

A day to live with purpose
A day to show you care
When others turn to you distraught
Confused or in despair

A day to share God's blessings
In quiet countless ways
That touch the heart with hope and joy
And brighten cloudy days

A day for sweet rejoicing
For gratitude and praise
Because His love enfolds you
Both now, and all your days.

Praise can be a response to pressure in life. Praise is more than an outward expression, it is a response to an inner need.  So much of what we hear is just negative, and we have to make a deliberate effort to be positive and counter the culture we live in. Praise is a great tool to help us achieve that.

Little things don't mean a lot, they mean everything.

Just being here for someone else and truly caring about someone may seem like a little thing.  Yet in reality, very few people ever feel heard, listened to or cared for. The little things turn in to the big things that matter.

Brighten The Corner Where You Are

We cannot all be famous or be listed in WHO'S WHO,
But every person great or small has important work to do,
For seldom do we realize the importance of small deeds
Or to what degree of greatness unnoticed kindness leads
For it's not the big celebrity in a world of fame and praise,
But it's doing unpretentiously in undistinguished ways
The work that God assigned to us, unimportant as it seems,

That makes our task outstanding and brings reality to dreams
So do not sit and idly wish for wider, new dimensions
Where you can put in practice your many GOOD INTENTIONS
But at the spot God placed you begin at once to do
Little things to brighten up the lives surrounding you,
For if everybody brightened up the spot in which they're standing
By being more considerate and a little less demanding,
This dark old world would very soon eclipse the Evening Star

So true to be there for someone might not sound like a lot, but may be the exact thing they need and appreciate.

So true, people rarely feel they're heard or listened to. The art of real attention is such a gift.

"Praise for the Morning." How I enjoyed reading this! But I must confess, initially I thought it was the lyrics from Cat Stevens "Morning Has Broken" ..... almost a hymn in itself.

this resonates with me today. "Praise is more than an outward expression, it is a response to an inner need. " and we need that need to be met.
