Chapter 5, Page 4, Book 17

With the new day comes new strength and new thoughts

Eleanor Roosevelt

Begin and end today with a THANK YOU !

Giving thanks, and often, frees the spirit and makes the heart secure.

 Fay Bohlayer

It’s so easy to become consumed by loss and pain. It’s easy to focus only on the problems, especially when the problems feels so huge. But even though life is hard, we can still be thankful.

In fact when times are tough, we have more reasons than ever to be thankful.  If you are giving thanks there is no room for discouragement or discontent.

Counting your blessings makes you remember the good things in life of which we all have many.  Simple blessings like a sunrise or a smile from someone that can uplift and encourage us.

So every day I look for the blessings in my life and try to remember those sometimes overlooked reasons that I have to be thankful for.

The unthankful heart ... discovers no mercies; but let the thankful heart sweep through the day and. As the magnet finds the iron, so it will find, in every hour, some heavenly blessings!

Henry Ward Beecher

No matter what is happening at the moment, it's important to be thankful everyday.  It is easy to be grateful when things are going well. It can be more difficult during the trials of life: death, disease, rejection, or failure. The truth is that no one is exempt from the trials of life, but good can always be found in even the worst of times. And embracing gratitude during those trials may be the one thing that gets you through them.

Gratitude is often the easiest way to begin to turn your world around.

J.P.Fischlin

I just started about a month ago writing down 10 things I am thankful for before I start my morning prayers. It is good to take the time to reflect on our blessings and to be grateful for them.

Very nice, Yes it is easy to slip into the forgetful mode when it comes to being thankful. We all must be careful of that, blecause there is so much to be thankful for in this life.

When things go awry, rather than make a face and pout, I try and ask God, "What do you want me to take away from this experience?" ... and thank Him for directing my steps.

These words carry alot of weight. "The truth is that no one is exempt from the trials of life, but good can always be found in even the worst of times. And embracing gratitude during those trials may be the one thing that gets you through them."
