Chapter 5, Page 2, Book 17

With the new day comes new strength and new thoughts

Eleanor Roosevelt
Love Lasts Forever

1 Corinthians 13:13
So faith, hope, love remain, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Everlasting is a word that is not used as frequently today. It’s poetic and impactful and a little bit hard to wrap your brain around. Perhaps that is because so few things in this world are everlasting. We do not have a strong basis for which to imagine something going on forever.

They say the love we give away is the only love we keep.  Unlike money, love and kindness multiply the more you give them away. For true love is inexhaustible; the more you give, the more you have. Only in love does a person let go of himself or herself and give up his or her will, for the other person's benefit.

Don’t be afraid of showing affection. Be warm and tender, thoughtful and affectionate. Men are more helped by sympathy than by service. Love is more than money, and a kind word will give more pleasure than a present.

John Lubbock

There is just one thing in the end, and that is the love that was in our thoughts, worries, wishes, and hopes. Everything else ends and passes away, everything we did not think, and long for, out of love. All thoughts, all knowledge, all talk that has not love comes to an end. Only love never ends.

Life may be momentary but the love it gives you lasts forever.

This is an interesting truth, "There is just one thing in the end, and that is the love that was in our thoughts, worries, wishes, and hopes."

Great thoughts on love. What caught my mind was your brief thoughts on "Everlasting". That is something to think about, that is for sure! THANKS!

When I think of everlasting I think of God. So true in this world not much is everlasting, except indeed love. That carries us through our days and gives us hope and peace in times of trouble, especially as we dwell in God's love for us.

Wouldn't it be neat to begin circulating (the word) 'everlasting' ... and see if it doesn't catch on? In the end, it's only love that endures. Humbling, indeed.
