Chapter 5, Page 16, Book 17

With the new day comes new strength and new thoughts

Eleanor Roosevelt

Life is precious, don’t take anything for granted.

When it comes to life the critical thing is whether you take things for granted or take them with gratitude.

G. K. Chesterton

When you take something for granted, you assume it will always be there for you. It becomes a given in your life, a fixture, something you expect won’t change, no matter what you do or don’t do.

It is easy to be complacent and take much for granted all around us. It is often an unexpected crisis or an unforeseen event that can knock us out of the complacency we had fallen into.

The more often we see the things around us - even the beautiful and wonderful things - the more they become invisible to us. That is why we often take for granted the beauty of this world: the flowers, the trees, the birds, the clouds - even those we love. Because we see things so often, we see them less and less.

Joseph B. Wirthlin

Appreciation and wonder are two qualities that, if we were to experience them regularly, could add much quality to our lives. Always show appreciation. What's taken for granted will eventually be taken away.

Don’t wait to have things taken away before appreciating them. The things you take for granted, someone else is praying for. Happiness never comes to those who don't appreciate what they already have.

Live life to the fullest because in a second things can change.

So true how quickly things can change in our lives. It is good to appreciate what we have indeed.

Ah YES! That ONE second! I am sure most of us can remember it AT LEAST ONCE!
Good thoughts.

These thoughts are all so true. I like this one today, especially... "Happiness never comes to those who don't appreciate what they already have."
