Chapter 4, Page 24, Book 17

With the new day comes new strength and new thoughts

Eleanor Roosevelt

Smiling Anyway

I’m not ok but I smile anyway.  I need to remember that one bad moment shouldn’t ruin this day.  When we think of it as a bad minute, not a bad day, we know we’ll get through it and be ok.  There is still a lot in life to smile about and to be thankful for.  The picture above is of one of my sweet little granddaughters giving me a smile just when I needed one.

Strength Is When You Have So Much To Cry For But You Smile Anyway
Stress begins when your worry list is longer than your gratitude list.  Happiness begins when your gratitude list is longer than your worry list.  So find something to be thankful for today.  Be sure to appreciate what you’ve got.  Be thankful for the little things in life that mean a lot.

Whatever happens, you can always choose to cry or to smile. So why not smile.  If you are happy, smile. If you aren't happy, smile anyway. It will help you get there.

Write it on your heart
that every day is the best day in the year.
He is rich who owns the day, and no one owns the day
who allows it to be invaded with fret and anxiety.

Finish every day and be done with it.
You have done what you could.
Some blunders and absurdities, no doubt crept in.
Forget them as soon as you can, tomorrow is a new day;
begin it well and serenely, with too high a spirit
to be cumbered with your old nonsense.

This new day is too dear,
with its hopes and invitations,
to waste a moment on the yesterdays.

 Ralph Waldo Emerson

There is always a gem here. I thought this could use repeating I will save it.

Stress begins when your worry list is longer than your gratitude list. Happiness begins when your gratitude list is longer than your worry list.

I have been lately starting my prayer time writing down 10 thankfuls from the day before. It does always be good to be grateful. I still do worry, but I am trying to let go and know God is in control.

Your grand-darling is so cute!
Wouldn't it be great to have one - or more! - of those portable smile sticks to hang onto in tremulous times?

You are right. Sometimes a well placed smile is all you need to get through a day. Your granddaughter's was special indeed.
