For last year's words belong to last year's language
And next year's words await another voice.
And to make an end is to make a beginning.
T.S. Eliot

The 8th day of Christmas…January 1st

A new year is upon us filled with days, moments and opportunities. With time flying like this it’s very hard not to think of the future, and even more importantly, who we’re creating the future for. That’s right, the children.  It’s a strange thought, that we’re going to be building the world the way we see fit, on principles and ideals of today, when it’s the children of tomorrow that will be living with it in the future.

Sing a New Song

It’s a new day and a new year.  It’s a new beginning for all of us.  We don’t know what tomorrow might bring, but today is a gift to enjoy.  A new start is in itself a new song.

We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunityand its first chapter is New Year's Day.

Edith Lovejoy Pierce

For this new year, 2017, I’ve chosen the word BEGINNING as my watchword for the year.  A watchword is defined as: a word or phrase that expresses a rule that a particular person or group follow.  I’d like to think of a watchword as a new spin on the New Years resolutions I used to make.

At my age you wouldn’t think there would be many new beginnings in my life, but much has changed for me this past year making it necessary.

Happy New Year to you All!  Wishing you God's many blessings throughout 2017!

January First.—Another page turned. Another milestone reached on the King's Highway. Another year beginning with its hidden store of joy and sorrow.... Let Hope reign on New Year's Day.

Beginning sounds like a wonderful watchword, Ma.
Those 365 blank pages seem at first, intimidating (to me). Suppose I need to relax and take them one page at a time?
Thanks for allowing me to accompany you on this journey! :)

Beginning is a great word, Ma! And you have such a good attitude about things, even the tough ones, that I'm sure this new year will be a wonderful new beginning for you as you start writing the pages of this new year.

I love that thought. Beginning. It's a fresh start. Fat kindergarten pencils, a new lunchbox, a pair of dull scissors and a bottle of paste.
Let's begin.

I love the quote, "And to make an end is to make a beginning." T.S. Eliot got it right, indeed. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
