Chapter 7, Page 31, Book 16

Autumn to winter, winter to spring,
Spring into summer, summer into fall--
So rolls the changing year, and so we change;
Motion so swift, we know not that we move.

Dinah Mulock Craik

July 31st - Welcome the opportunities that changes bring

Celebrate each season, for you too, are transformed with the turns of the earth.

Arthur Dobrin

Summer vacations are typically filled with actions like playing, visiting, exploring. Sometimes a change of scenery is just what is needed to recharge our energy. However, not every change is welcomed or expected.

Constant changes happen to us and around us. Rather than meeting them with resistance or discontent, we should try consider them with the joyful expectation of a child.

Change is often rejuvenating, invigoration, fun ... and necessary.

Lynn Povich

As we are challenged by a change, we can consider changes as opportunities for greater potential.

By welcoming change with joy filled expectation and enthusiasm we find a world full of wonderful possibilities.

The four seasons of nature are a helpful way to recognize that there are profound changes that can come with the seasons of our lives. Recognizing the seasons, honors the changes in our lives. Honoring the seasons, honors the truth that some changes are welcome, and some are not. But to live, is to know change.

Chapter 7, Page 30, Book 16

It takes years to build up trust,
but only seconds to destroy it.
You can get by on charm for about fifteen minutes.
After that you'd better know something.
Don't compare yourself to the best others can do,
But to the best you can do.
It's not what happens to people that's important.
It's what they do about it.
Always leave loved ones with loving words.
It may be the last time you see them.
You control your attitude or it controls you.
It isn't always enough to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes you have to learn to forgive yourself.
Your background and circumstances may have influenced who you are,
But you are responsible for who you become.
Even if you do the right thing for the wrong reason,
It's still the wrong thing to do.

July 30th - I wonder

Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t--you’re right.

Henry Ford

I often wonder at what point in my life will I have learned all there is to know.  Is there every going to be a point when I’ll be absolutely confident about all the answers? When I’ll be completely sure about all things?

Confidence comes easily and naturally for some, for many others it seems impossible. The good news is that it is a habit that can be learned to some degree by anyone, but it takes some training and practice.  The more we practice confidence as an attitude, the easier it becomes.

When it comes to confidence, one thing is certain: truly confident people always have the upper hand over the doubtful and the skittish, because they inspire others and they make things happen.

Self confidence is so relaxing. There is no strain or stress when one is self confident. Our lack of self confidence comes from trying to be someone we aren’t.

Anne Wilson Schaef

Happiness is a critical element of confidence, because in order to be confident in what you do, you have to be happy with who you are.

Confident people don’t pass judgment on others because they know that everyone has something to offer, and they don’t need to take other people down a notch in order to feel good about themselves.

People with confidence listen more than they speak because they don’t feel like they have anything to prove.  Our mind is a very powerful tool, and the impact of our thoughts and words cannot be underestimated.

Live your truth. Express your love. Share your enthusiasm. Take action towards your dreams. Walk your talk. Dance and sing to your music. Embrace your blessings. Make today worth remembering.

Chapter 7, Page 29, Book 16

Get the facts, or the facts will get you. And when you get em, get em right, or they will get you wrong.

Thomas Fuller

July 29th - little known fact

Fact:  a thing that is indisputably the case.

Why should the wedding ring be worn on the fourth finger? There is a beautiful and convincing explanation given by the Chinese...

Thumb represents your Parents ...Second (Index) finger represents your Siblings... Middle finger represents yourself... Fourth (Ring) finger represents your Life Partner and the Last (Little) finger represents your children

Firstly, open your palms (face to face), bend the middle fingers and hold them together,  back to back ...Secondly, open and hold the remaining three fingers and the thumb, tip to tip.  Now, try to separate your thumbs (representing the parents), they will open, because your parents are not destined to live with you lifelong, and have to leave you sooner or later.

Please join your thumbs as before and separate your Index fingers (representing siblings), they will also open, because your brothers and sisters will have their own families and will have to lead their own separate lives.

Now join the Index fingers and separate your Little fingers (representing your children), they will open too, because the children also will get married and settle down on their own some day.

Finally, join your Little fingers, and try to separate your Ring fingers (representing your spouse)  You will be surprised to see that you just CANNOT, because Husband and Wife have to remain together all their lives, through thick and thin!!

Neat, huh? I wonder how many of you actually tried this? I did!

Fact:  something known to exist or to have happened

Chapter 7, Page 28, Book 16

Funny is an attitude

Flip Wilson

July 28th - we choose our attitudes

He who laughs, lasts.

Mary Pettibone Poole

Our attitudes make a difference in our lives. It’s been proven time and again that love, hope, faith, laughter, confidence, and the will to live have a lot of therapeutic value.

When you have an attitude of love,  you always seeks the well being of the other person.

The attitude of hope is an expectant attitude that something good is going to happen and things will work out, no matter what situation we’re facing.

The more faith you have, the more positive you'll be.  An attitude of trust, faith, hope, and love will find expression in delight.

Laughter should be considered more of an attitude than an audible, physical expression. Laughter is joy flowing, happiness showing, countenance glowing.

Turn the corners of your mouth up instead of down. Don't cry, laugh!

End today, begin tomorrow, with laughter.

Chapter 7, Page 27, Book 16

If you want your life to be a magnificent story, then begin by realizing that you are the author and everyday you have the opportunity to write a new and interesting page.

Mark Houlihan

July 27th - my life is an open book

Life is like a book. There are good chapters, and there are bad chapters. But when you get to a bad chapter, you don’t stop reading the book! If you do…then you never get to find out what happens next!

Brian Falkner

A day in life is like a page in a book. Starting a new day is like turning to the next page. Living a fulfilling life is like finishing a great book.

Life is like a book with many chapters that we call seasons.

Each chapter is different, they tell the story of love, drama, comedy, mystery, loss, adversity, growth, disappointment or triumph.

While some chapters are dull and ordinary, some are intense and exciting.

The key to enduring, persevering and being hopeful is to never stop on a difficult page, to never quit on a book or a chapter that seems too long.

Your choices are the pens you use which write the words in your book.

Have the courage to keep turning the pages believing better chapters lie ahead.

In the book known as life, the way to live happily ever after is to focus on the moment every step of the way.

Life is like a book. Each day is a new page. May your book be a bestseller with adventures to tell, lessons to learn and tales of good deeds to remember.

Chapter 7, Page 26, Book 16

A person is alive only to the degree that he or she is aware.  To make the most of life we must constantly strive to be aware of the importance of being aware.

Be Aware of Yourself:  We should be aware of who we are and what we want to be.  We should be aware of our ideals and purposes and our relationship to the Infinite.

Be Aware of Your Senses and Use Them:  So often we are distracted and unconscious of the riches our senses can pour into our lives.  We eat food without tasting it, listen to music without hearing it, smell without experiencing the pungency of odors and the delicacy of perfumes, touch without feeling the grain or texture, and see without appreciating the beauty around us.

Be Aware of People:  This calls for sensitivity, an empathy that will make us aware of the inner thoughts of people--sadness, loneliness, discouragement, joy.  This is often an extrasensory awareness.  We should see people not as part of a crowd, but as individuals with needs, longings, and aspirations.

Be Aware of Our Environment:   We should be aware of our surroundings, both our community and our country, and of the influences that now mold our world so that we can play our part in the life of our times.  We should be aware of significant events in politics, science, and religion and find in them the true and meaningful.

The secret of being more vitally alive is to be more aware.  Starting today, from this moment, become aware of awareness!

Wilferd A. Peterson

July 26th -  Just for today, I’ll slow down and notice what’s around me

Life is always walking up to us and saying, Come on in, the living's fine, and what do we do? Back off and take its picture.

Russell Baker

We all need to be at least a little bit mindful to get through our days with the best of what life has to offer.   I’ve found that it doesn’t matter much what we do or work at; as long as we do it with full awareness and acceptance, we will enjoy it.

Focusing on one task at a time, putting yourself fully into that task, is much more effective than multi-tasking. Focusing on one real goal at a time is also more effective.

It's only when we truly know and understand that we have a limited time on earth - and that we have no way of knowing when our time is up, we will then begin to live each day to the fullest, as if it was the only one we had.

Elisabeth Kubler-Ross

Just as you would savor your food by eating it more slowly, do everything this way, slow down and savor each and every moment.  When you are constantly aware, every experience becomes a lesson in life.  Time is the greatest opportunity of your life. Don't waste a minute of it.

It's all a matter of paying attention, being awake in the present moment, and not expecting a huge payoff.  The magic in this world seems to work in whispers and small kindnesses.

Charles de Lint

Chapter 7, Page 25, Book 16

Be it ever so humble there's no place like home!

July 25th -  home is a place where anything is possible

A house provides shelter, but a home is where you weather all of life's little storms and revel in the sunshine.

They say that home is where the heart is and right now my heart is at home.  Home is a place to love and cherish for all your life. It gives you a feeling of comfort and safety.

Home is supposed to be where we find tranquility and where we can feel like our most comfortable selves.  Home is where everything sort of clicks and where weight can be temporarily lifted from your shoulders, even if for a few hours.

Home is your place and the constant you want to have when everything else around you seems to change.

More than any thing my home is my safe haven .  A house is just four walls and a roof, but a home is made up of everything else inside.

A house may be decorated from floor to ceiling with the finest furnishings money can buy.  But that will never ever make it a home.  A home is a sanctuary.  Home is comfort.  Home is inviting.  Home is a refuge from the world.

May your home always be too small to hold all your friends. And may the blessings of each day be the blessings you need most.

Chapter 7, Page 24, Book 16

One cannot but be in awe when one contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery each day.  Never lose a holy curiosity.

Albert Einstein

July 24th - we all need more awe and wonder

Look at everything as though you were seeing it either for the first or last time.  Then your time on earth will be filled with glory.

Betty Smith, Joy in the Morning

One of the goals I set for myself every day is to keep a sense of wonder, awe, and reverence for life.  The weary cynic in us needs hope. The overwhelmed worrier in us needs soothing. And the frustrated, angry and disappointed parts of ourselves need rest.  Allowing in more wonder and awe can do that.  Wonder and awe can enable a sense of gratitude, appreciation, joy, peace and contentment. They can heal because they nourish.

A great gift that all of us should seek is is a gift of wonder and awe; the gift to appreciate God’s glories and wonders on display at every moment, and everything we see and everyone we encounter.

A wonder filled you is essential to a wonderful life

Get out and awaken your sense of wonder , it's essential for leading a truly wonderful life.  Wonder is a sense of how grand and marvelous life is, both our own small lives and the vast and intricate web of being in which we exist.

When we are caught up in the wonder of it all, we find ourselves humble, grateful and curious. We are open to small beauties that surround us as we go through our ordinary tasks and we are open to the marvel of being part of something much larger than ourselves.
The invariable mark of wisdom is to see the miraculous in the common.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

Chapter 7, Page 23, Book 16

Oh, the ordinary day, let me be aware of the treasure you are. Let me not pass you by in quest of some rare and perfect tomorrow. Let me be grateful while I may, for it may not always be so. One day I shall fall upon my knees, or bury my face in the pillow, or lie among the sick, or raise my hands to the sky and want, more than all the world, your return.

Mary Jean Iron

July 23rd - any ordinary day has the potential to be one of extraordinary joy and contentment

The sum of our lives is only as good as the days that we add along the way.

Author Unknown

Real life happens in the small moments we find on the most ordinary day of the week.  Not every day is a special occasion, but every day there are lots of wonderful little reasons to smile and celebrate - the sun came up, the birds are singing, you unexpectedly hear from an old friend… so many ordinary but wonderful things happen every day.

Most of our life is plain, everyday life. Just ordinary life. But that is where a deep, satisfying joy can be found.  I’m all for making the most of every day.

Happiness is a matter of one's most ordinary and everyday mode of consciousness being busy and lively and unconcerned with self.

Iris Murdoch

It’s sad but true that too often we miss the beauty of ordinary until it is gone.   And there is a lot of wonderful things to appreciate in the everyday. Take time to just appreciate the beauty in life. Don’t make the mistake of waiting until everything is going well before you find joy in the moments. Don’t wait for a special occasion. Don’t wait for everything to be in order.

We cannot afford to wait until everything in life is tidy before appreciating the joy in ordinary moments.   Give thanks for what you have even as you grieve for what you are missing. Live fully by finding joy in the ordinary moments.

I hope your day is full of wonderful little moments

May your home always be too small to hold all your friends. And may the blessings of each day be the blessings you need most.

Chapter 7, Page 22, Book 16

Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow.
The important thing is not to stop questioning.

 Albert Einstein

July 22nd - Hopeful

Some see a hopeless end, while others see an endless hope.

Author Unknown

The only time period in which any of us can ever live is the present. The past is behind us, and the future always lies ahead.  But there are a lot of valuable lessons to be learned from the past, and we can substantially improve the quality of our lives today by cultivating a positive attitude toward the future

Life is a learning process and we hope to pick up some wisdom along the way that will give us hope for the future.

For instance one of the greatest lessons learned in the past is that we get treated in life the way we teach others to treat us.

Today I will do unto others as I would have them do to me

In the future I hope be treated as I have treated others

Hope is for now, it is for today, and it is for tomorrow too

No matter how difficult life can be the most important thing is to live it with hope

Anonymous

We all need hope. No one wants to live life without it. Anyone that has it, tries to hang onto it. Anyone that has lost it, wants to get it back.

There has always been hope for our world, there is hope in our world and we can hope for a brighter future

There is no medicine like hope, no incentives so great, and no tonics so powerful as the expectation of something better tomorrow.

Chapter 7, Page 21, Book 16

Simplifying isn't meant to leave your life empty, it’s meant to leave space in your life for what you really want to do. Know what those things are before you start.

Leo Babaura

July 21st - simple summer days

The ordinary acts we practice every day at home are of more importance to the soul than their simplicity might suggest.

Thomas Moore

There is so much that brings joy into my life.  There are far more joyful things than momentary worries, so why spend precious moments at the day cluttering our minds with the things in life that don’t bring lasting meaning and hope?  Why not concentrate on the joyful things instead,  the simple things in life that are our daily gifts to enjoy.

So I took some time to list of the some of the simple joyful things I’m enjoying this summer

Feeling the morning dew on my bare feet as I walk across the grass
Colorful flowers
Blue skies
Gentle falling raindrops
A steaming cup of freshly brewed coffee early in the morning
The sound of the birds singing
Eating freshly popped popcorn
Sipping on iced peach tea on a sunny afternoon
Standing on the porch and listening to the sounds of nature
Lingering over freshly squeezed lemonade on a hot summer day
Looking at pictures of my family in my photo album, such fond memories!
The smell of fresh herbs such as basil, dill, and mint growing right outside my back door
The heavenly taste of a fresh ripe tomato
Watching an early morning sunrise
Taking in the calm beauty of the setting sun

My list is never ending, but I hope you’re getting the picture.  The simple things in life are those things that surround us daily, but we so often don’t take the time to appreciate and fully enjoy because we allow our minds to be far too cluttered with the daily noise of ‘stuff'.

We don’t need to increase our goods nearly as much as we need to scale down our wants. Not wanting something is as good as possessing it.

Donald Horban

May your home always be too small to hold all your friends.
And may the blessings of each day be the blessings you need most.

Chapter 7, Page 20, Book 16

One of the most sincere forms of respect is actually listening to what another has to say.

Bryant H. McGill

July 20th - listen

Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.

Winston Churchill

Today we are so busy and in such a hurry, with so many problems, some of which are unimportant, that we lack the capacity to listen. We are constantly busy and thus we don’t have time to listen. To be heard, to be truly listened to, is a gift of love. We all yearn to be understood, to be known by another.

It seems so simple, so obvious, and yet how rarely this precious gift is given to another. Listening is perhaps the most important gift of all that we can give.

Were we as eloquent as angels we still would please people much more by listening rather than talking.

Charles Caleb Colton

Listening is hard work. Countless thoughts interrupt our focus, distracting us and blocking our understanding of one another. All too often, we are more interested in expressing our thoughts, than in hearing someone else’s. Listen more and talk less and see how your relationships change for the better. Listening breathes life into people and relationships.

Taking time to listen is a gift we can give day after day, every day.

It is a gift to our spouse, a gift to our children, a gift to a friend, a gift to someone we work with, a gift to our neighbor, and a gift to the stranger on the street or the check out person in the store.

Wisdom is the reward you get for a lifetime of listening when you'd have preferred to talk.

Doug Larson

May your home always be too small to hold all your friends.
And may the blessings of each day be the blessings you need most.

Chapter 7, Page 19, Book 16

Dare to Be

When a new day begins, dare to smile gratefully.

When there is darkness, dare to be the first to shine a light.

When there is injustice, dare to be the first to condemn it.

When something seems difficult, dare to do it anyway.

When life seems to beat you down, dare to fight back.

When there seems to be no hope, dare to find some.

When you’re feeling tired, dare to keep going.

When times are tough, dare to be tougher.

When love hurts you, dare to love again.

When someone is hurting, dare to help them heal.

When another is lost, dare to help them find the way.

When a friend falls, dare to be the first to extend a hand.

When you cross paths with another, dare to make them smile.

When you feel great, dare to help someone else feel great too.

When the day has ended, dare to feel as you’ve done your best.

Dare to be the best you can –

At all times, Dare to be!

Steve Maraboli

July 19th - Taking on the dare

Seventy percent of success in life is showing up.

Woody Allen

Trying to live the best you can is one dare I’m willing to give a try. To be the best you can at everything you do.  At least I’ll know that I gave it the best try I could.

When you’ve given your best, you know there isn’t anything left to do.

Things turn out best for the people who make the best out of the way things turn out.

Author unknown

Many people don't put in their best effort unless they have to. While morals and values are disappearing, the world is crying out for someone to take a stand. Someone who will say, I will dare to live and embrace excellence and commitment. I will do my very best with the best that is in me and the best that I can be.

Always do your best. Do your best in your work, your thinking, and helping other people. The future will be as good as the present if you do your best all the time.

The man who has done his best has done everything.

Chapter 7, Page 18, Book 16

Live life with no excuse and love with no regrets. When life gives you a 100 reasons to cry, show life that you have 1000 reasons to smile. Face your past without regret. Handle your present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear. Keep the faith and drop the fear.

July 18th - smile more

Smile every chance you get…

I can smile because I've been blessed with today, and I can make the most of it.

I smile because, thankfully, there's no one else like me in this world.

I smile because I'm choosing to enjoy my life regardless of the obstacles I will face.

I smile because I choose to wear my experience as wisdom, not baggage.

I smile because I'm aware of the negative and positive aspects of my life; however, I am choosing to focus on what is going well in my life.

I smile because I have hope.

I smile because today is the best day of my life, tomorrow is not promised.

I smile because I live in a world of endless possibilities.

I smile because I have faith that whatever is meant to be will be.

I smile because I have been given this life for me to enjoy.

I smile because even though people come in and out of my life, I will never be alone.

You'll find that life is still worthwhile, if you just smile.

Chapter 7, Page 17, Book 16

Getting to a place of comfort can be uncomfortable.

Marcus Samuelsson

July 17th - finding comfort in uncomfortable times

Everybody has a Comfort Zone.  There is a certain temperature at which we feel the most comfortable.  There is a way of life in which we feel at ease.  There is a crowd of people with whom we feel most comfortable.  When we are around the wrong crowd; in the wrong situation; in the wrong place; and doing the wrong things, we can feel very uncomfortable and out of place

When I’m uncomfortable I’ve found that by slipping into a favorite garment, sipping a perfectly chilled beverage on a hot day, or visiting with a love one is often where I find comfort.  There is a lot of comfort to be found in the ordinary things in life.

There are also a lot of uncertainties in our life and finding comfort in these uncertain times isn’t quite so easy. There are things happening all around us that are just too close for comfort.  It'’s then that there is no comfort in being comfortable. Comfort comes from the strength earned from growing through discomfort. Comfort comes by gaining strength from adversity. Comfort is self confidence. Comfort comes from knowing that you have the WILL to do whatever it takes.

Remember:

Tough times never last, but tough people do.

Chapter 7, Page 16, Book 16

Gratitude takes three forms: a feeling in the heart, an expression in words, and a giving in return.

John Wanamaker

July 16th - Counting Your Blessings Can Improve Your Life

There is so much to rejoice in. There are so many blessings to thank the Lord for.   Focusing on your blessings instead of what you do not have can bring real health benefits. Fixing our hearts on our blessings can bring unity more effectively than looking for trouble.

Gratitude can help you sleep better.  Gratitude helps you put things in their proper perspective

It is impossible to be negative while we are giving thanks.

Donald Curtis

Gratitude can decrease stress and anxiety. Taking a moment to count your blessings during an upsetting event is a way to shift your mindset from negative to a positive.  Instead of focusing on what went wrong, you focus on what you learned from the experience. Grateful people report fewer symptoms of illness and are less bothered by aches and pains.

Counting your blessings is not just about adopting an attitude of gratitude; it’s about making great things happen in your life. Being thankful tends to open our eyes to the good in the world, which in turn, has the power to encourage and inspire us. Gratitude brings us back into the present moment quickly and easily,

Seeds of discouragement will not grow in the thankful heart.

Anonymous

Looking for things to be grateful for, you begin to appreciate simple pleasures and things that you previously took for granted.

Count yours blessings instead of adding up your troubles. There is always something to be thankful for!

When you look at life through the eyes of gratitude, the world becomes a magical and amazing place.

Chapter 7, Page 15, Book 16

I held a moment in my hand, brilliant as a star, fragile as a flower, a tiny sliver of one hour. I dropped it carelessly, Ah! I didn't know I held opportunity.

Hazel Lee

July 15th -  Possibilities, the world is filled with them

To improve the golden moment of opportunity, and catch the good that is within our reach, is the great art of life.

William James

I’ve had a lot of good opportunities in my life. Like most people, I’ve taken some and missed some. But being able to take advantage of as many opportunities as possible is important. Sometimes just one opportunity can mean the difference between an extraordinary life and a mediocre one.

When Opportunity Knocks, Open the Door

The older I grow, the more I realize there is so much out there I don’t know, so much that I have to learn. For sure, there is always something about ourselves we can improve on. The human potential is limitless, so it’s impossible to reach a point of no growth. Whenever we think we are good, we can be even better.

So look beyond what your eyes can see. Every opportunity is beautiful, unique and available only to you; nobody else.

Open your heart, mind and eyes.

Every day is an opportunity to make a new happy ending.

Chapter 7, Page 14, Book 16

Time is an equal opportunity employer.  Each human being has exactly the same number of hours and minutes every day.  Rich people can’t buy more hours.  Scientists can’t invent new minutes.  And you can’t save time to spend it on another day.  Even so, time is amazingly fair and forgiving.  No matter how much time you’ve wasted in the past, you still have an entire tomorrow.  Success depends upon using it wisely—by planning and setting priorities.

Denis Waitley

July 14th - Once you stop rushing through life, you will be amazed how much more life you have time for.

What is time?  The shadow on the dial, the striking of the clock,
the running of the sand, day and night, summer and winter, months,
years, centuries--these are but arbitrary and outward signs,
the measure of Time, not Time itself.  Time is the Life of the Soul.

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Sometimes it seems as if life is passing us by. When we were children, time seemed almost endless. Car journeys used to last an eternity and the summer holidays seemed like years stretching before us. As we grow older it seems that time goes faster and faster, but in reality we are simply coming to realize more and more how precious time is.

We are like the bus driver who told his passengers, I have some good news and then some bad news. The bad news is we took a wrong turn and are on the wrong road. But don’t worry, the good news is we are making great time.

It’s as though the going itself, the movement at a fast pace, is its own reward regardless of where it takes us. We have become enamored with speed for the sake of speed itself.

In our day when many people meet themselves coming and going, most people feel pushed for time. The feeling is that there simply aren’t enough hours in a day. Life with all its demands is far too busy. When you find yourself speeding up and stressing out, it’s time to pause, and take a deep breath. Take time to smell the roses.  Slowing down is a conscious choice, and not always an easy one, but it leads to a greater appreciation for life and a greater level of happiness.

Although we cannot stop time, we can slow down our days. Focus on what’s really important, what really needs to be done, and let go of the rest.  We also need to rest, relax and withdraw; we need to allocate time to chill out. How we spend it will depend on our own personality. The important thing is that we take time out altogether from work

Time is a resource and we should not waste the time God has given us. Whatever you’re doing, be fully present and appreciate every aspect of it, and find the enjoyable aspects.  Focus on one thing at a time. It is not busier lives that we need. What is needed instead is a better use of the time we have

Remember to spend time doing things that bring you Joy!

Time is but the stream I go a-fishing in.

Chapter 7, Page 13, Book 16

Remember These Words

Don't let go of hope.
Hope gives you the strength to keep
going when you feel like giving up.

Don't ever quit believing in yourself.
As long as you believe you can,
you will have a reason for trying.

Don't let anyone hold your
happiness in their hands;
hold it in yours, so it will always
be within you reach.

Don't measure success or failure by
material wealth, but by how you feel;
our feelings determine the richness
of our lives.

Don't let bad moments overcome you;
be patient, and they will pass.

Don't hesitate to reach out for help;
we all need it from time to time.

Don't run away from love but towards
love, because it is our deepest joy.

Don't wait for what you want to come to
you; go after it with all that you are,
knowing that life will meet you halfway.

Don't feel like you've lost when plans
and dreams fall short of your hopes.
Anytime you learn something new about
yourself or about life, you have progressed.

Don't do anything that takes away from
your self respect; feeling good about
yourself is essential to feeling good
about life.

Don't ever forget how to laugh or be
too proud to cry.
It is by doing both that we live
life to its fullest.

July 13th -  sometimes we need a reminder

A kiss is just a pleasant reminder that two heads are better than one.

Author Unknown

We all need a reminder every now and then to help us remember important things.  A a  reminder to fight on, not all who wander are lost, and to always love.

The human memory is an awesome tool, but it isn’t perfect.  We all need gentle reminders now and then, so that we don’t forget what we need to do and where we need to be.  To pick up the laundry, change the water filter, buy new toothpaste.

Because when life gets stressful, we often forget the things we should remember, and remember the things we should forget.

Life is short. This is one of the most powerful reminders we can use to make sure we make the most the time we get.

Sometimes we all need a reminder to enjoy the ride, to stay positive and motivated.  Aa reminder to slow down, take a moment and revel in the present.

Some days, we need help.  And some days, we need reminders that we’re doing our best, even if our best feels small and insignificant and totally not what we wish it were.

And some days, it doesn’t matter if it’s a cheesy, ugly sticker. Or a ripped and torn post it note.

Some days, we just need a lift.

Everyone needs reminders that the fact of their being on this earth is important and that each life changes everything.
