Chapter 12, Page 1, Book 16

What oxygen is to the lungs, such
is hope to the meaning of life.

Emil Brunner

We will all battle hopelessness at some point in our lives. And no matter who we are or what our situation; HOPE is one thing we all desperately need. The reason is, hope is powerful. Hope is more than a motivational thought or a fading daydream

Hope is what stabilizes our frantic thoughts and emotions.  It’s an awareness that there is no problem big enough to keep God from rescuing you.

Hope: The Happy and Confident Anticipation of GOOD

Hope and faith go hand in hand. Hope also enables us to endure hardships and long waiting periods, and God uses these times to develop character and endurance in us.

Hope dares us to believe that things might just work out after all. It’s the sometimes unexplainable, but always undeniable, feeling that today would be a bad day to give up.

Never assume that where you’ve been or where you are is as good as it gets. And when your goal or your situation seems impossible, keep in mind that nothing is impossible for God.

Strong hope is a much greater stimulant of life than any single realized joy could be.

Friedrich Nietzsche

There's a famous passage of scripture that ends with the line, And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. For me, hope carries a very potent energy. I can so easily fall into the trap of pessimism and cynicism and begin to wallow in my own despair. Even if love is present, without a glimmer of hope from time to time, depression nips at my heels. But hope rejuvenates. Hope fills me up when I am empty.

Hope has a way of reminding us, in the midst of all the challenges and uncertainties life brings, that it might. just be okay. That there is an end in sight. That there is light at the end of this tunnel.

Remember always:   Keep hanging on. Keep trusting God. Keep hoping.

Oh yes, what a way to end the post:

Hope has a way of reminding us, in the midst of all the challenges and uncertainties life brings, that it might. just be okay. That there is an end in sight. That there is light at the end of this tunnel.

I never thought of it that way, I like how you express it.

In all the tough situations of life I've been in, there is always hope and there is always light at the end of the tunnel. In going through this particular one, I can, because God has been faithful through other such circumstances, I can see God's hand in this as I'm walking the journey instead of looking back and seeing how he was walking with us through other sad events. That gives me hope that as he brought us through those things, he will bring us through this particular one and he will be just as faithful as he was then now. That hope I cling to :)

I'm loving your lil' stair-stepper in Photo #2!

Sometimes it's good to just quit struggling and look for that light at the tunnel's end.
