How strange is the lot of us mortals! Each of us is here for a brief sojourn; for what purpose he knows not, though he senses it. But without deeper reflection one knows from daily life that one exists for other people.
August 30th - time to reflect
Follow effective action with quiet reflection. From the quiet reflection will come even more effective action.
We constantly take in countless sights, sounds, and information every day. While it is important that we continue to be open to the world around us, it is also important that we stop and reflect on all that we have learned and experienced.
Through refection we can see how strong we've become through the ups and downs, joys and disappointments of life. These experiences have made us stronger and more capable. From times of reflection we gain a new appreciation of who we are the ways we contribute to the world.
If we would only give, just once, the same amount of reflection to what we want to get out of life, that we give to the question of what to do with two weeks vacation, we would be startled at our false standards and the aimless procession of our busy days.
