Chapter 7, Page 6, Book 16

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.

Leo Buscaglia

July 6th - Hope can be ignited by a spark of encouragement.

I am going your way, so let us go hand in hand. You help me and I'll help you. We shall not be here very long ... so let us help one another while we may.

William Morris

Studies have shown that infants who are touched and held and cuddled tend to develop more quickly and more fully than infants who are given less attention. We were created to love and to be loved, and we suffer when that love is withheld.

A tender touch tells us that we are cared for. It can calm our fears, soothe pain, bring us comfort, or give us the blessed satisfaction of emotional security. Touch is is so powerful that it can slow your heart rate, decrease your blood pressure, and strengthen your immune system!

It might be the most essential and least appreciated sense. In a world where so much of our interaction is virtual, Facebook, emails, texts,  physical contact is more precious than ever.

Reach out and touch somebody...

Never underestimate the power of touch. A simple handshake, a tap on the shoulder, or a pat on the back can make a world of difference.

Yep, a simple touch can be worth its weight in words. It can convey things too that people might not have the words to say.

Meeting a friend for dinner. Definitely a big hug goes along with dinner. Take good care and keep cool!

this is definitely right on the mark. "A tender touch tells us that we are cared for. It can calm our fears, soothe pain, bring us comfort."
