Chapter 7, Page 4, Book 16

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He choose for His inheritance.

 Psalm 33:12

JULY 4TH

Freedom.

By definition it is – the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint.
Freedom is powerful.  It is a gift.  A treasure.
The most significant, important gifts in life are always worth fighting for.  And often, they come with a great price.  They are not free.  Somewhere along the way, someone paid dearly for the liberties we enjoy so freely today.  But often, we forget.  It’s easy to take them for granted.  We enjoy freedom, but most of us alive today, have always had it.  We may not even be fully aware of just how many men and women have paid dearly for the gifts we enjoy today.  The price was paid through many long years.

We must marvel at the fact that a government created for 2.5 million people living in 13 colonies/states still serves a nation of 50 states with 311.7 million people.

Wherever you are this weekend, have a safe and happy holiday, and just for a moment, pause to remember how fortunate we are to live in the United States of America.

Freedom is a precious gift.  Thank God for it today…

Posterity — you will never know how much it has cost my generation to preserve your freedom. I hope you will make good use of it.

John Quincy Adams

So true how freedom is a precious gift! Good reminder for us to reflect upon it today as we do our celebrations and thank God that we are able to live in this great country.
