For Chapter 6, Page 4, Book 16

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.

Leo Buscaglia

June 4th - caring enough to care

Care is an engaging word. If we care, then we are compelled to respond to the needs we see around us. Sometimes it requires action, sometimes it simply calls for our presence, but it always propels us to see the world with compassion and grace.

Being caring allows us to have empathy for others and to live a life based on affection, love, and compassion for the people around us.

Each of us is a being in himself and a being in society, each of us needs to understand himself and understand others, take care of others and be taken care of himself.

Haniel Clark Long

To be a more caring person, you have to appreciate the people in your life as much as you can. Be thankful and grateful for your family members, your friends, your significant other, or any of the people who make your life more meaningful and positive. Don't focus on the things that you're missing or the rude comments you have to deal with sometimes, and think about all of the joy and happiness that people bring to your life instead.

When we care enough to give our best, we get the best.

Remember today: we do not always know what someone else is going through.

Truly caring about someone I do believe is a gift; to put them first with their needs and to let them now how much they mean to you. I think it is greatly appreciated by all when someone does care for them lovingly.

You're so right, not always knowing what another has going on in his/her life.
I recently learned that my BF's doctors believe she has fibromyalgia (sp?). Debbie keeps putting off having her hair cut because even the act of someone shampooing her hair is excruciating. Still, you'd never know she's suffering on account of her cheery attitude and ability to make everyone ELSE feel good.

I LIKE THAT:
When we care enough to give our best, we get the best.

And caring is about action that is for sure.

It cannot be said enough, we do not know what someone else is going thru, so care.

Leo got it right. "Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around."

Years ago, I listened to a book on tape that LEO put out. It was a remarkable book.
