Chapter 6, Page 7, Book 16

Alphabet Of Happiness

A--Accept
Accept others for who they are and for the choices they've made even if you have difficulty understanding their beliefs, motives, or actions.

B--Break Away
Break away from everything that stands in the way of what you hope to accomplish with your life.

C--Create
Create a family of friends whom you can share your hopes, dreams, sorrows, and happiness with.

D--Decide
Decide that you'll be successful and happy come what may, and good things will find you. The roadblocks are only minor obstacles along the way.

E--Explore
Explore and experiment. The world has much to offer, and you have much to give. And every time you try something new, you'll learn more about yourself.

F--Forgive
Forgive and forget. Grudges only weigh you down and inspire unhappiness and grief. Soar above it, and remember that everyone makes mistakes.

G--Grow
Leave the childhood monsters behind. They can no longer hurt you or stand in your way.

H--Hope
Hope for the best and never forget that anything is possible as long as you remain dedicated to the task.

I--Ignore
Ignore the negative voice inside your head. Focus instead on your goals and remember your accomplishments. Your past success is only a small inkling of what the future holds.

J--Journey
Journey to new worlds, new possibilities, by remaining open-minded. Try to learn something new every day, and you'll grow.

K--Know
Know that no matter how bad things seem, they'll always get better. The warmth of spring always follows the harshest winter.

L--Love
Let love fill your heart instead of hate. When hate is in your heart, there's room for nothing else, but when love is in your heart, there's room for endless happiness.

M--Manage
Manage your time and your expenses wisely, and you'll suffer less stress and worry. Then you'll be able to focus on the important things in life.

N--Notice
Never ignore the poor, infirm, helpless, weak, or suffering. Offer your assistance when possible, and always your kindness and understanding

O--Open
Open your eyes and take in all the beauty around you. Even during the worst of times, there's still much to be thankful for.

P--Play
Never forget to have fun along the way. Success means nothing without happiness.

Q--Question
Ask many questions, because you're here to learn.

R--Relax
Refuse to let worry and stress rule your life, and remember that things always have a way of working out in the end.

S--Share
Share your talent, skills, knowledge, and time with others. Everything that you invest in others will return to you many times over.

T--Try
Even when your dreams seem impossible to reach, try anyway. You'll be amazed by what you can accomplish.

U--Use
Use your gifts to your best ability. Talent that's wasted has no value. Talent that's used will bring unexpected rewards.

V--Value
Value the friends and family members who've supported and encouraged you, and be there for them as well.

W--Work
Work hard every day to be the best person you can be, but never feel guilty if you fall short of your goals. Every sunrise offers a second chance.

X--X-Ray
Look deep inside the hearts of those around you and you'll see the goodness and beauty within.

Y--Yield
Yield to commitment. If you stay on track and remain dedicated, you'll find success at the end of the road.

Z--Zoom
Zoom to a happy place when bad memories or sorrow rear a ugly head.

June 7th - happiness is a gift

Happiness is the only good. The place to be happy is here. The time to be happy is now. The way to be happy is to make others so.

 Robert Ingersoll

Happiness is not a happening; it's a state of mind. You can have everything in the world and still be miserable. Or you can have relatively little and feel unbounded joy.Happiness is a gift that is available to each of us with out cost.  All we have to do is be able to receive it and when we have it we can can choose to share it with others too.

Whoever is happy will make others happy, too.

Mark Twain

If you want to buy happiness, there are plenty of people who are selling. The world of advertising exists to convince us that if we only had this car, this food, this pair of shoes, this perfume, or this sports drink, we would finally be better looking, stronger, faster, cooler, smarter, more successful. And this, according to the commercials, is what will change our lives and make us truly happy at last.

This kind of happiness is both expensive and worthless. The kind of happiness that outlasts any purchase you can make is free for the taking and the giving.   Happiness is powerful. Try smiling at someone and you will see what I'm talking about. Decide to use your gift of being happy and choose happiness in every moment, over every obstacle and every problem you encounter.

Each moment that you are happy is a gift to the rest of the world.

Harry Palmer

The first thing you have to do with your gift is try it on; wear it from the inside out. Once you put it on, you will never want to leave without it. Happiness has become fashionable; it is catching on quickly, and spreading fast. The interesting thing about this gift is that if you don't use it, it is not worth anything, even if it has tremendous value. You have to know something is valuable to benefit from it. Happiness is one of the most valuable things in the world.

Most people don't even know the value of happiness, because they don't know what happiness is. Happiness is mental health, peace of mind, a great attitude, a positive vision, a contributor to good physical health, and a friendship magnet. Happiness is the foundation for love and compassion. Happiness has different meanings for different people, but it always possesses the same basic component, which is having gratitude for what you already have.

Happiness is the art of appreciating what we have.

I liked that alphabet of happiness. Lots of good advice there! So true that happiness is the art of appreciating what we have and so true money doesn't buy happiness. I think if we keep searching for ways to make us happy, we need to just step back and wonder why we aren't content with what we have and work on our heart and mind to get them back on track with being grateful for all we have.

I love that alphabet of happiness too. There is so much truth in what you say about happiness. It may seem as elusive as a butterfly but doesn't have to be. We only have to write out a list of what we are grateful for to realize how rich we already are. Thanks for explaining that sometimes posts don't show up for awhile. I don't have that large a following since I don't keep up my posts as regularly as I once did. But I just can't do it. Ma. My health has to come first so I write when I can, and thank God for those who do stop by. I don't need the comments but like everybody else, can always use good friends to share with when life gets hard. I appreciate having you in my life. YOU, like the LORD< have been a constant in my life, something I can always count on being there. Thank you. Love you and appreciate all the time you put into your posts. They are always warm and very uplifting- always filled with food for thought too. Take care now. Have to rest. God bless you.

appreciating what we have is important indeed. Like the alphabet of inspiration. My favorite words there were, "Journey to new worlds, new possibilities, by remaining open-minded."
